Serious Injury Motorcycle Crash in San Diego

On February 28, 2025, a driver failed to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming motorcycle, causing a major accident.

Police said the motorcycle, traveling eastbound on Orange Avenue, struck the driver’s side door of the Nissan Frontier as it was turning westbound onto Orange Avenue from Connolly Avenue.

Emergency responders, including officers and paramedics, provided lifesaving measures to the 36-year-old motorcyclist, who was later transported to a nearby hospital with significant internal injuries, police said.

Archeologists believe that the first humans came to what became Chula Vista about 10,000 years ago. By about 3,000 B.C., people speaking the Yuman (Quechan) language had moved into the region from the Lower Colorado River Valley and southwestern Arizona portions of the Sonoran Desert. Later the Kumeyaay tribe came to populate the land, on which the city sits today, and lived in the area for hundreds of years. The Kumeyaay built a village known as Chiap (or Chyap) which was located by mudflats at the southern end of South Bay.
