Apparently, according to Mayflower, the Marines aren't military. That's okay, those of us who can read will answer the question. Yeah, the most common Army saying is "hooah", which is a noun, a verb, and an adjective, by the way. Lol. The Army also uses "embrace the suck" for those guys who just love being out in the field, in a rainstorm, at night, in Winter... You get the idea. The one I like the best is "De Oppresso Liber", which is the Green Beret's motto, meaning "To Liberate the Oppressed". Each unit within the Army has its own motto, of course. Ours was "Vires Montesque Vincimus", which means "We Conquer Men and Mountains". We also say "tighten up your shot group" which means you need to un-**** yourself. Also, "squared-away", "high-speed low-drag", and "Ranger-ific"!

Sorry Andrew but "Semper Fi" is associated w/ Marines.

I don't know what the tdown is for. "Semper Fi" is part of OUR history. Not the army, navy or air force.

Umm, of course the army uses hoooah, as a kind of affirmative yell. And the marines say hoorah, with an R. POG, as the other guy stated, is what we "grunts" call other people. Hence, People Other than Grunts. I'm sure there is many variations of what that actually means but simply, non-infantry is a POG. The term FISTER is used for forward observer, a 13F. "Sua Spante" is a term used by rangers in a ranger battallion. It means "of their own accord." I was a ranger, but not in a ranger battallion so therefore I never heard the term other than from Ranger battallion guys. Special forces uses the phrase "Mess with the best die like the rest." That's about all I can remember off the top of my head. Hope this helps!
