I agree with guy above, if you want infantry the army can guarantee it in the contract, not sure thats the case with marines, and i definitely know that the promotions are much faster in army infantry than in marines. If your going to risk you life, why not get more benefits is my thinking. Id go for the 11X in army.

That's personal choice, my friend! One is just as bad as the other. I was Army Infantry with the 82d Airborne Division for 12 years, in three conflicts and I qualified for 60% disability almost as soon as I got out. I loved being a grunt because there are none of the politics that you'd find in gender-integrated units but there is a physical price to be paid. Lower back, hips, knees, ankles, feet and shoulders take a beating.

Pro's : Nice uniform, good training, cool weapons, food and a roof over your head, can get a career (dont be infantry, get a skill!).

Con's : Infantry = bullet in the head or mutilated body/face for life as a result of an IED.

I wouldnt join, what would you be fighting for? Freedom? Ha! That old chesnut, can't believe we brought into that one.

Hey Cullen, get a clue Marines don't see more combat. More Army units have seen combat than Marines in this war. Marines can't guarentee you infantry, just a combat MOS. Army can guarentee infantry, so i'd say Army. Also the first guy (...........) obviously has no clue what he's talking about lol.
