They will probably cancel your enlistment
contract as you enlisted as:

Single with No Dependence...

Should have read your contract before
getting her pregnant...

Your pay raise will depend on the base you will be stationed at.

I would highly recommend getting married before you leave for basic. If not, you will loose an average of $1,500 a month in extra benefits plus any prenatal care your girlfriend gets will come out of pocket since she won't be covered as a girlfriend, even with her being pregnant with your child.

During basic and AIT you could get separation pay, which is $250 a month, and you can get BAH for the area you enlisted from. Once you get to your first duty station the separation pay stops and your BAH is based on your duty station regardless of if your wife is with you or not. If you don't marry her then you will have to stay in the barracks and you will only qualify for a smaller BAH rate to pay for child support after the baby is born.

You can see the BAH rate for your area here:

Enter your current Zip and then add that amount plus an extra $250 to your base pay to see what you will make a month if you get married before you leave.

If you plan on getting married in the future, get married before basic so she can have prenatal care! Don't listen to some of those other guys, my hubby and I have been married 6 years and in the Coast Guard for 5 of those (we are only 26 and 25, so the very definition of a young couple). We are perfectly happy together and I wouldn't want him to be in any other career. The military is an awesome way to support your family! Where else are you going to get $2000 a month AND free healthcare?

You will get your base pay which depends on your rank plus basic housing allowance which is different everywhere you go for example im an e-5 so i get my basic pay and then i get bah with one dependent so i get an extra 1172 a month and 300 dollars for food so imake about 3615 a month.

Did you check out the DFAS chart? http://www.dfas.mil/militarypay/militarypaytables.html

I'm guessing you haven't shipped yet. Remember you don't have to ship. You are not obligated to ANYTHING with the Army until you ship for Summer Camp.

The Army is not worth the pay or benefits. Plus, do you have any idea how much time away from your future kid and future wife you will be spending? If you are a bit older, then you should stand a fairer chance, but young couples in the military have extremely difficult times staying together, kids or no kids, marriage or no marriage.

You will not get any extra pay for having a wife or child but you can be eligible for an allowance. Basic Pay is based on your Rank/Rate and the time you have in the military. There is allowances for being married such as BAH, Family Separation, COLA, etc... OCONUS COLA meaning you are based overseas is the only time that it matters how many dependents you have with you at the time. All other allowances are a straight amount whether you have 1 dependent or 20.

As you are not married you will only get Basic Pay while in Basic. Having a child and not married then you would only qualify for BAH-diff if you are paying child support while living in barracks.

If you are married then you will get Basic Pay, BAH (Housing Allowance based on the zip code you resided at when you enlisted) and Family Separation ($250 per month when gone longer than 30 days).
