It will never be enough to live on. They will live not only pinch pennies for years to come without a provider....but will spend the rest of their lives blaming themselves for not doing enough to save you.
In other words....you will ruin their lives.....

Don't do it man your suppose to be religious, you go to hell if you commit suicide.
Have you ever seen an atheist on the battle field? NO
Why kill yourself? To leave everything behind.
Why leave everything behind? So you don't have to worry about anything
Who is worrying? Your family and more of your family
Who is that family? The family that brought you to this world to serve a purpose.
What is that purpose? To be in the military, saving your family from harm.

Killing yourself just makes everything worst for the family.
If you care about your family, you will be the one to sacrifice and live the way your are.
If you kill yourself, you DID NOT give yourself 110% to keep going. You let your family suffer.

Over all man don't kill your self. May God be always on your side. HE WILL PROTECT YOU.

The X-Files
Shortly after the 911 emergency number became available, an elderly and quite ill lady appeared in a hospital emergency room, having driven herself to the hospital and barely managing to stagger in from the parking lot.

The horrified nurse said, "Why didn't you call the 911 number and get an ambulance?"

The lady said, "My phone doesn't have an eleven."

You want to know what they get out of your death????

Answer: They won't get anything good out of your death. All the money in the world can't replace someone they LOVE.
Don't kill yourself that's not the answer. Plus every thing you've done in Iraq and Afghanistan will be in vain. Your only helping the those bastards if you kill your self.

Don't make your family go through much pain by killing yourself.
So please try to seek help try to talk to someone who's been there. You only have one life don't waste it.

Thank you for service.

get your life insurance policy and read it - also contact your local "vets for peace" - they have lots of experience with PTS - post tramatic stress syndrome - give it some time - read you policy then deside - not talking you out of it - just want you to know that what you are going thru is not unusual.

sorry you feel bad - but i can see why you do - you need to see others to that can share so you do not feel so all alone.

It's not worth it to kill yourself! It will hurt your family because they love you and it's just a long term answer to a short term problem. No matter what people say, things will always get better. I know you said not to try to persuade you not to do it, but you shouldn't take your life! Talk to a family member or a friend who's close about this. Just remember it is NEVER worth it to commit suicide.

Your question is honest and you've asked us not to talk you out of it, but what most people have said is true. Insurance companies rarely pay for deaths ruled as suicides, I have no idea about the military honors since I have never served and have no knowledge of them. I hope you know how many people respect that you have served for your country, I include myself, but I also respect you for caring about your family enough to question about this. I will honor your request of not talking you out of this since you're older than me even if only a year older and I have no idea what you have been through, but for your family's sake I'm hoping that you don't go through with it, sorry.

Was this answer helpful to you?  Yes  /  No

Okay, I won't talk you out of it. I'll just ask you a question: How do you intend to get any satisfaction from seeing your family get your life insurance money or seeing yourself being given "military honours" if you're DEAD? I mean, don't you think that's just a wee bit short-sighted? If you kill yourself, your family probably won't even get the money and even if they do get it you won't even be able to keep tabs on whether or not they use it responsibly for the remaining years/decades of their lives. And also, you won't be able to care about getting military honours -- which you probably won't get because of it being a suicide, you know? Be rational, man. o_o

Samian's 26th Account
Usually, the policyholder signs an insurance contract knowing that there's a suicide provision in it. The suicide provision generally makes life insurance void if one kills themselves within two years of signing the contract. Afterward, it doesn't matter how they died.

Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (SGLI) will pay benefits to your family if you go through with it. However, if you attempt suicide and fail, they won't pay anything.

killing your self will end up hurting your family than helping it. im not sure what they would get out of it, but im sure that it wouldnt matter.

I understand part of what you are going through. I am nearly 20 too, and want to commit suicide, just because I feel empty, and don't see the point of going on, when the destination leads to one place. I can't do it because I have $20,000 debt, and you can't do it, because you haven't still given back to your parents the 20 years of love, and compassion they gave, and the hopes with which they raised you. You weren't an accident. You were a miracle.

However, you are only 20. You have experienced one side of life, and you have yet to experience the other side of life. Just quit, and at least you get to have the experience fro army on your resume, which will give you a better advantage. Go to a technical school, or college, and learn to be young. People make mistakes all the time. I know I did. But you can still turn the path around. Go to school, learn some skills, and start a new career. Life is yet to come. If suicide is a choice, then wait until you have done your part living your life as best as you could, for the sake of others, and for the sake of discovering your own identity.

No. They will not receive any money. No honors, either.

Insurance companies only want to collect your money -- they are in business to PREVENT anyone from collecting from them, and will do everything in their power to keep from doing so. They use most of their profits to hire lawyers whose full-time job it is to figure out ways to deny people's claims.

A suicide is a total slam-dunk for them. Your family won't get a dime.

The military is the same way. They only want to USE resources, not spend them. They spend a lot of energy and cash figuring out ways to prevent disabled, injured and sick vets -- and their families -- from receiving the benefits that were promised them.

If you commit suicide, you'll only be making the bean-counters at the insurance company and the Pentagon happy, because you will have completely given up everything you've worked for, and your family will get exactly NOTHING.

Nothing except terrible grief, and lifelong guilt. That's all you'll leave them if you kill yourself.

Was this answer helpful to you?  Yes  /  No

No. If you commit suicide you do not get military honors due to the fact that suicide is considered dishonorable. Your family may get your life insurance money but it's very unlikely because you would not die by natural causes or in action which most likely will exclude you from your claim.

Was this answer helpful to you?  Yes  /  No

Nothing life insurance doesn't pay in cases of suicide. I don't know about military honors.

What they will get out of your death ( by suicide?) Screwed royally! That's what!
The insurance does not cover suicide, nor will you receive any military honors.orbenefits for your survivors.

One of my closest friends committed suicide 26 years ago. To this day, I can see his mother as she collapsed into anguished sobs at his funeral. Over and over she screamed, "Don't take my baby. Please don't let them take my baby." I'll never forget it, and haven't been to a funeral since. So overwhelming was her grief, so great the mark it left on me, that I have not been able to give my own family members a proper send off since. I've seen my friend's mother a few times over the years, and she's a shell of the woman she once was. Her eyes are haunted. It's all so tragic.

Do you *really* want to put your mother through this? Would you like your little sister (if you have one) to find your lifeless body as my friend's sister found his?

I'm very sorry for what you went through over there, and I thank you for your service to our country. It takes a brave breed of person to enlist during a war. Your courage is admirable. You had the guts and the grit to see your tour through to the end. Now turn that same grit and determination on yourself. Seek counseling. There's no shame in it. War traumatized my father, my uncle, and their father before them. It traumatized my nephew. It gets everyone. You aren't alone. People understand. All you have to do is reach out for help.

Good luck to you, soldier. Hang in there. You have a family, and a life to live. You've still got a job to do.

As the mother of a former soldier, I salute you.

No and No.

Suicide is not the answer. It will ruin your families lives. They will never get over it and it will never get better.

Please seek help. You are not alone and you have your whole life ahead of you.

Good luck. I will pray for you.

Mwah! Love ya!
Your family will get nothing but grief and sorrow from this. Your family awaited your return with high hopes that you will return alive. And you did. Please don't do it. If you need someone to talk to you can talk to me. Reply back, email me, whatever. You can get through this. It won't be easy, but you've made it thus far and you can go farther. Please talk to someone, if not me.

No, they will end up paying the bills most likely.

Look, it may be easy for you, but it's your family that will be hit hard. Just like the guys who you protected in Afghanistan, protect your family from mounting funeral and other costs, believe me it's not going to be easy for them! So don't do it for them alright?

Nope. They get nothing. You are really screwing them then.

Was this answer helpful to you?  Yes  /  No

If you do what you are planning, your just making it harder on everyone else. If you want to die because of all the crap you have gone through and you figure that if you die your family doesn't have to deal with you and get your benefits... your wrong. They get nothing. Absolutely nothing. They only get a dead body. Thats it.

I suggest you talk to your CO and a Psych ASAP. You my friend, are in a very bad place. I've been there. Don't become a statistic.

You would be letting yourself down, your unit down, your family down, the Army down, America down.
