You don't have to be a citizen of the US to enlist in the military. It will limit your jobs though. I worked with a lot of guys who joined the military because it was an easier way to become a citizen than wait and take the test.

You actually don't have to be a citizen yourself. Your parents' citizenship won't matter.

PS - A ins # doesn't make one a citizen. It makes one a legal immigrant.

your parents are not the issue it goes off what YOUR status is.
do you have a ssn #, if so then I would say you would be good to go.
I am a UK citizen and attended ALL of the meetings for the USAF and at no time did they even ask for my status, they just needed me to sign as he was under 18 years of age [hence why I went to all the meetings]

I didn't think so. I thought if you joined the military, you would be able to become a citizen without the test. I don't know what your parents would have to do with it.

no but you need to be at least a Citizen or Green Card holder. If they are here illegally you may not be allwoed to enlist either. also you you will be unable to take any job requiring a Clearance at first.
