It is possible, but I don't think it would be easy. It will be a lengthy process and you will have to do a lot of petitioning. When I was in the military I heard if someone got a dishonorable discharge six months later then could petition for a general discharge. I don't know how true it is.

Call a Service organization like Disabled American Veterans.
DAV 1-877-426-2838 www.dav.org
VA 1-800-827-1000
STP 1-510-252-4788 Swords to Plowshares
Ask to speak to legal. There is probably a day and hour you can call. Ask the person who answers, but be polite. Real important!
Lawyer referral number. VA specialist Lawyer call them and get an appoinment on the phone or whatever.
Good Luck, and don't take no for an answer.
Vet Center can also be helpful, ask for the number in your local area. In this area it is a Country operation.

Slim to none. It would take an act of Congress to reverse such a discharge.

CG-23 Sailor

Absolutely not...

there is only one way I can even imagine it happening and that is this...

If you have a case which can withstand going to court that proves you were wrongfully accused and given the discharge of dishonorable , then AND ONLY THEN, there stands a chance of getting it reversed and that still would take at least an act of congress still.
Still though I think if you got a Dishonorable discharge you probably deserved it. after all if there was anything suspicious about your case they could have just given you an other-than-honorable.

idiot. then it wouldn't be a dishonorable discharge!!!

Was this answer helpful to you?  Yes  /  No

Nope, and don't lie about it on applications either -- employers always check military records now.
