I finish my current job this week and I'm owed 3 weeks holiday. I'll be handing in my ID and all work equipment this week. I start my new job next week, but because I have three weeks of holiday to take, my jobs overlap. Is this legal?
I can't imagine why not.
Think of it this way: if you have two jobs, why wouldn't you be able to be on vacation from one while working at the other?
I see no reason that wouldn't be legal, you just found a cool temporary loophole ;)
Your jobs don't overlap. You just have unused vacation time which has nothing to do with starting a new job. Whether you get paid for it or not is another story and up to your employer.
