Doctors, shrinks, brokers of all kinds, pharmacists, real estate agents and probably a few more I can't think of all need a special license, they have to pass their state's Boards. Everyone in business (at least in CA) needs a business license and if you don't have one and the state catches you doing business they can fine you and shut your doors.

Of course a pharmacist needs a license. That profession is highly regulated.
People with professional licenses include but are not limited to hair stylists, manicurists, bus/limo drivers, real estate agents, appraisors, architects, opticians, tatto artists.
The list is quite long. The cost is determines by your states Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation.
My real estate license cost about $140.
