what are the rules for secret filming?
I have evidence on video of a person in a professional status making slanderous remarks against me and I want to use this video as evidence in an official complaint but it was filmed in secret, can the video be used or will I be prosecuted for making the video??

You have two options: blackmail him or talk to a judge. Chances are you'll be able to use it in court. The latter is not guaranteed to work and the former can end badly.

You could be prosecuted. You need to be a public body AND have a courts permission to operate secret surveillance.

If it was recorded somewhere where a person could be expected to be recorded (such as a radio station, or somewhere with CCTV) then it could be argued that they had an expectation that they might be recorded.

If it was in their office or somewhere like that then they would have no reason to imagine they could be filmed then it is difficult to see how you can use it in evidence. Things people say in private are expected to remain private.

Basic...If it is filmed in a public place (open to all/any members of the public) then it is not a secret recording as it is legal to do so.
If it was not, talk to a lawyer before asking anyone else!!!!
