The president cannot order you to do an illegal (or immoral) act--even though he thinks he is above the law. If you believe in a supreme being, you probably also believe you will be held accountable for your actions.

Only if I am a Soldier do I have to take direct orders from the POTUS.
Other than that... the president has no direct authority over a citizen. The Legislature makes the Law.... not the Executive branch... and NOT the Supreme Court either!!!

If you are in the military, yes. He is your commander in chief.
Otherwise, no. The president does not make laws and the US would never have "his word is law" like that. Too close to having a king.
Well, I guess it depends on what he told you to do. In special circumstances it may be classified as treason.
