Who cares either way.
I would say yes if they used the tax money for USEFUL things not free abortions and methadone and midnight basketball courts.

Yes it should and it should be under laws and have restrictions just like alcohol. By the way...I would prefer my kids to be high over drunk any day. Scientists have proven that it is way safer to smoke bud than drink. How many people have died from marijuana? ZERO How many people have died from alcohol? Yea you do the math...

No, because I just flat out think it's stupid, unfortunatley it won't matter weither it's legal or not because stupid teenagers are still gonna smoke it no matter what, i'm glad i'm not one of them. I have more of a life than laying down in bed high and staring at ceiling tiles.

We have enough idiots without having our kids, people burning up their brains. It's bad enough the way it is now, but having a bunch of idiots trying to live off the others. stealing, killing etc..
No No NO NO -- Maybe you been smoking that stuff, that's why your burned up brain says it a good idea.

in my opinion, i think if weed was legalised then there would be soe positives.

The government would make sure that its grown to a certain standard - not strong enough to blow your mind, and it would be consistantly good quality.

The goverment would get money from the tax

People would stop turning a blind eye to it, and there would be less crime in the UK

There are bad points too, like maybe more people would smoke it because its OK (like the law stops people anyway, but its a possibility)

No cause you can kill more people with alcohol.
It's more acceptable to be a drunk.
and politicians drink like a fish

Yes, Just like alcohol it also needs an age limit, I see nothing wrong with smoking a joint of green or black (preference), It does not make you angry like the drink does to some people..Yes I say lets Legalize it. Just stay off the chemicals.

at the least it should be tolerated.
there should be places where it is okay to smoke weed like in amsterdam, with the red light district.
a lot of people that i know that smoke weed, smoke because itsillegal.
if they just section off an area, then everyone should be fine.
and plus, its natural, i mean i dont get the big deal about it.

First of all, it's already legal in some states for medical purposes.

Generally, I think it's harmless. But the overall US population is just not ready for it to be legal.

i agree with Randy

besides why drink and drive when you can smoke at fly?

What he didn't mention is the finical benefits our country would receive if we legalized an already popular product and then taxed it the way we do cigs? i think it would be very profitable.

Consider this: When is it more dangerous to drive, while you're drunk or when you're stoned? Do you ever hear about anyone getting a DUI for driving under the influence of Marijuana?

How many times do you hear about the Pothead dad who gets too stoned and beats his wife and kids? It's a sad story that usually has a background drowned in alcohol.

Or read about the Porter Meadow 4/20 celebration in Santa Cruz. Thousands of people standing around smoking weed all in close proximity to each other. If you replaced marijuana with alcohol, this would end up being a brawl, or a rodeo. Every year the cops show up and say, "this is illegal, you cannot smoke marijuana here." When 4-20 rolls around, the cops are no where to be found, and no one gets arrested, and no fights break out.

I'm not saying that alcohol is all bad. I drink, and I always have a good time. But there is definitely a stark difference between the behavior of drunks and stoners, and it's clear who is less dangerous. So all I'm saying is, if you're going to allow alcohol to be legal, why shouldn't marijuana be legal. They are both bad for you; I'm not going to try and act like marijuana has any real health benefits. But since health risks are obviously not dictating policy here, it is a moot point to make.

You should probably try and research how and why marijuana became illegal in the first place, and it might change your stance on the subject.

This is a pretty tough question. First you have to consider the fact that, though it isn't legalized, many people are already out there doing it. So some may say that it being legalized won't really matter. But then you have to look at it like this: Many people are already doing it it when it isn't legalized, imagine how many will do it when it is legal.

Grasp those two facts and you can make your decision. Either way, you shouldn't do it at all.

If there were a way to test for current 'intoxication', then sure.

Otherwise, if someone is allowed to smoke pot in their own home what happens when they go driving around, and hit and kill someone? (Yes, it has happened.) If they are tested for drugs and alcohol, and a test shows THC in the body, the smoker could simply claim they smoked pot three weeks ago and was not high at the time (As THC remains in the system for 30+ days)
If a test was developed similar to a breathalyzer that would determine beyond a shadow of a doubt when it was smoked, I'd be all for it (Not that I smoke, I just believe in government butting out of our personal lives.)
Otherwise, do what you want when you want.

I think it should... no i don't smoke it but look at all the ways it can benefit the country environment and medicine... the pros obviously outweigh the cons... so yes it should be legalized

Yes I think it should because less kids will hide it from there parents and maybe it will make them less likely to do more harmful drugs.

I look at marijuanna the same as I do alcohol, its not good for you but people still use it. So if it was to be legalized how much of a difference would it make? Cause people would still smoke it reguardless. Same as when Alcohol was illegal in the early 20th century, they had the bootleggers to supply people who wanted it so it really wouldn't make a difference.
