madpol1	Technically, the War is legal. The Administration crossed all the T's and dotted all the I's on this one, both domestically and with the UN. Neither Congress nor the UN had any idea that the Beloved Leader would make it a PERMANENT War, but they did sign off on it. But, I agree with Porselvis on this one. We should stop recognizing war as a legal activity and start prosecuting Acts of War as common crimes. When you get down to it, there's no bigger crime than the slaughter of tens of thousands and the destruction of that much property. Forget Special Tribunals for terrorists and aggressors should be treated like Ted Bundy and made the one exception to a ban on the Death Penalty. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

porselvi s	why only iraq war alone? Can there be any justification for war? USA or UN or for that matter any country, who propagate war are interested in coining new words for war to justify or condemn according to their convenience. but the fact remains,there are pain in both sides' militory lot. The militory lots may be glorified for sacrificing their life for nothing. Can you lay your life for the war whatever may be the justification given by the warmongers ? please be honest and think yourself. You know what is the money involved in the all the defence deals by all the third world nations with the western arms dealers? you know where these bigggggg money involved in arms deals goes to whose kitty? how much kickbacks are given to the beaurocrats involved in third world nations for their own ends sheerly ignoring the poverty stricken third world and African nations ? Do we realy need war? War is born in mutual mistrust between nations again not by the common public but by the war mongers. Why the common man joins force/militory/navy to lay his life on the mean pretext and glory given by war mongers? can you observe who are justifying war? The exception under Article 51 applies only to self defense in the case of armed attack. The UN resolutions concerning Iraq did not authorize any independent use of force, subsequent to the invasion of Kuwait, without Security Council approval. Congress’ delegation of it war authority to Bush did not override the US’ obligation under the international treaties, e.g. the UN Charter, to which it is a signatory.
