Do you think I got a case?

Back in July I was having some abdominal pain to I went to one of the hospitals in my town. I got there about 9 at night. I was in excruciating pain. While there I saw a doctor that did a pelvic exam and a urine test only, and I was sent home with a paper that said "abdominal pain of unknown Origin, one Vicodine that they gave me before I left, which made me really sick.( They sent me home at like 630am) That whole day I could barely walk. I was in so much pain. I knew something was wrong so I went to a different hospital. The next hospital immediately found bacteria in my urine and did a CT of the abdomen and found that my appendix was about to rupture. They did an emergency appendectomy. I feel I was not treated at the first hospital because I have no insurance at the time. I was laid off from my job. After I got out of the hospital, hospital number one called and asked me what all they did for me that night and how I was doing. I felt they were trying to cover something up. So do you think I got a case?

Pork pattie, what is wrong with you! I work very hard. When you are sick and you go to the hospital you are supposed to be helped! What eles are hospital and doctors for to help people I thought. And you know **** about me. Whether or no I paid it is none of your concern you could have kept your input to yourself. thank u PORK pattie.

You have a case for malpractice. Whether you can prove it is another question. Your damages would be the value of a couple extra hours of pain. Expect to spend tens of thousands of dollars to recover a few hundred.

I guess since nothing showed up in your urine to indicate it was your appendix you were not kept for further observation which would have been the case had they suspected inflammation of your appendix. Medicine is part science and art so in the real world medicine is not perfect. Get a copy of your lab work to see if in fact they overlooked a rise in your bloods for possible inflammation of the appendix. That's the evidence you need I would think to put a case together. It does make me wonder had you had proper medical insurance, would they have searched harder and found the cause. Proving it is another matter. Any time you are doubled up like you were should clearly be a sign of more serious nature. Seek legal advice, but without that lab paper, I would think you may not have a case. I do think it's worth seeking legal advice. All I can say is that you were very lucky, had your appendix burst, you may have died or certainly had serious complications. Thank God, you have fully recovered.

EDIT: Thanks for confirming (by negative pregnant) that you did not pay your bill. Please explain why, when you ask me a question, I am supposed to know not to answer it? I rather like my answer, and it appears that others agree.
