Well one thing you got to understand is many counter fitters claim to have no idea, and many have clean records. Possession is 9/10ths of the law. So basically, your dad is going to be charged with being in possession of counterfit currency. It really depends if he's charged by the state or charged by federal courts, so the punishment can vary.

Can't say. Don't know if he actually made it or knew it was counterfeit and lied to you, or if anyone should have recognized it as fake, or if he ran like a deer when they challenged him. I'd bet there is more to this than you know.

If the State police are involved and an open investigation is in effect. He just has to wait it out and see what happens? If he had no Idea or has confidence that he didn't know the were fake? He will be ok., but if he kind of knew? (UGH!!!)

There are lots of phony money in circulation these days and if he was only accused and not arrested don't worry about it. If on the other hand he was arrested then he needs to get an attorney immediately.I go all over the country and I get money from several different states so for me to remember where I got a phony bill from would be very hard to do.Then he must not have a very good attorney.
