Would they offer more time or will it go down?
My friend is in jail for three months now, with some d felonies.His case went to the supreme court and they offered him ten years which he turned down, he said they will offer him less time every time he go to court. But I heard in supreme court they offer the lowest first and go up from there. So which one is it?
In most circumstances, two or three offers will be made and each offer will give a slightly better deal. Once the prosecutor reaches what he feels his "best" offer is and it is refused, then he will take it to trial. It is a gamble to risk too many trips and offers. You never know when the DA will decide his evidence is strong enough to take to trial and not be concerned over the costs involved ( which is why plea bargains exist to begin with).
