Will I ever get a city or state job with these charges?

Assault 3rd Degreee with intent to cause physical injury- PL 120.00,
Petit Larceny PL 155.25, Criminal Possession Stolen Property- 5 degree, Menacing 3rd Degree PL 120.15 Criminal Possession of Marijuana PL 221.10 and Resisting Arrest PL 205.30.-----the last two have been Adjourned in Contemplation of Dismissal.....with these charges can I ever get a city or state job???? should I even bother to try?

No, you will probably not. Most city and state governments have a zero-tolerance policy on violent crimes and/or property crimes involving theft.

Only if other applicants have more serious charges against them and you float to the top of the list. Dream on.
Jobs out of the question are:
Any job involving fire arms
Any job involving money
Any job involving legal prescription drugs (pharmacy, nursing, doctor, etc)
Any job involving handling high value assets or property
Look to being a cab driver or self-employed. You burned your bridges and now you can't cross them anymore.

Hi. The misdemeanor charges can be sealed after probation is complete, but the PL 120.00 (assault) is a felony, and I am assuming a strike on your record. With that on there, you will not be able to get a city or state job. You can try to get that brought down to a lesser charge, or getting it sealed, and at that time, applying for city/state jobs would be worth it, but with those charges laid out on your background, you would not be able to obtain those jobs.

yes, IF you have your record sealed or expunged. talk to your lwyer about it. It costs money... in OH it cost me $50 to have it sealed. only feds can access my record. I now work for the county and have had no problems.
