It depends on the city and the jail, but it will not be a pleasant experience. You probably will not enjoy it, there are no "activities" and yes there is a forced bedtime and you will eat whatever and whenever they feed you. Maybe you will survive without any incidents and then maybe not.

There are NO activities in jail. People watch too many movies. You are told what to do, where you can and can't go (mostly can't go). It's not like they portray it in the movies.
