Traffic ticket not showing up in system, what to do?

2009-10-15 15:31:12 +0000	I would show up but ask them if you have a court date. I wonder if the officer was unable to read his own writing or the clerk person so they did not enter it. You might have just got out of it if it was not legible to be entered. But you still need to show up or even call not the police station but the court where traffic is held and explain to them. I really think he was unable to read his own writing so it was not entered. We were told to use pen all the time. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

2009-10-15 15:35:08 +0000	Go to court on the 21st and look at the docket. If your case is on the docket, appear and ask, since the ticket is illegible, that you be given a legible copy and time to prepare a case. (You have to be able to read, at the very least, the section of law you're accused of violating [not "going the wrong way", the actual section number in the law], the time and date of the violation. And, if there's a factual error on the ticket that you can't read now, and you can from a good copy, you could fight it on the fact that what the ticket actually says isn't what actually happened. [IOW, if you were on First Street, but the ticket says Second Street, and Second Street isn't a one way street, you couldn't have been going the wrong way on Second Street. Plead as charged, not as the officer corrects it to after you testify. [If there's an error, don't say a word about it until after the officer has finished testifying.]) If your case isn't on the docket, be prepared to spend the day in court. Then, just before adjournment - they'll probably ask if there's any other business before the court - if not, walk up and talk to whoever is prosecuting the cases - ask (innocent as a newborn) when your case is going to be heard.
