ok, i dont know where you live but its considered pornogrpahy. It is very bad if you sent a naked picture to a minor. (that is very very bad) Think of it as porno to the third degree.
It is also very bad if you ARE the a minor sending it to others. Because then it is child pornogrpahy. You can get into serious trouble. Delete the picture and ask the other person to delete theirs.
They could have sent it to a hundred people, who then sent it to another hundred of their friends. By noone tomorrow it could be a hit among the teenage or adult population.
Think next time

I was reading your question and the thought occurred; verizon keeps records of the data that is sent for billing purposes because I have requested confirmation, so do they also keep the pictures?

If you an/or the person who received the text are a minor then you can get into quite a bit of trouble. Especially if you are an adult and they are a minor. Then you will probably be charged even if you could somehow prove it was an accident. Assuming the other person didn't just delete it and forget about it. If you and they are both adults, and it's the only time it has happened then there's really nothing that can happen. But if you "accidentally" send these out on a more than one time basis it wouldn't be hard to convince a judge that it wasn't really an accident and get an indecency case on you.

It depends. The pornography laws vary considerably. If one or both of you are minors, the penalties for child pornography can be severe.

If you are a minor, you can get hit with child pornography and distributing child pornograghpy. You can probably also get hit with indescent exposure, but that may be a bit of a stretch. It all depends, talk to the person you sent it to and clear this up and vow to never talk about it again.

If you're both adults, then really the only thing it could be is harassment, which doesn't apply to an accident. So as long as they believe you that it was a mistake, you're not in any trouble at all. If they didn't, I suppose they could take you to court, but it seems very unlikely.
And Messianic Jew, no, they don't.
