Bugsy
Is it really against the law to "associate" with a convicted felon?
If it is what do they (the people who made the law and/or enforce it) mean by associate?
Additional Details
I thought so, so why do the charges on T.I. (A Rapper) from September 1, 2010 include associated with a convicted felon? Neither of them broke out of jail or anything so is it because he committed a crime with a felon? Or does that not matter?

i doubt it is because that would be ridiculous. it would mean a felon couldn't have any visitors without them being arrested for a start.

maybe people who are already ex convicts aren't allowed to assosiate with other felons, but apart from that i can't see how it could work.

As a free citizen, you would be free to associate with whomever you choose - including convicted felons.

The only time it becomes a matter of law is when you yourself are out on parole or on probation, and the terms of that release include a prohibition of associating with known felons.

EDIT: "A federal judge ordered rapper T.I. back to prison for 11 months for violating his probation with a drug arrest Friday."

He was already on probation, and he violated it with drugs, guns, and probably by also violating the terms of the probation regarding associating with known felons.

If he wasn't on probation in the first place, the "association" part wouldn't matter to him at all.

No, if the person is out of jail and has not committed any further crimes, there is no law that states he cannot associate with other citizens. I think you may be thinking of the rule made when someone is on parole. One of the common conditions of release is the individual not associate with other convicted felons.
