Inappropriate Questioning by Probation?
I am on formal probation due to DUI which was a result of my history of alcohol abuse. I have been sober 7 mos and doing very well in my program. Two ladies from Probation came to check on me last week and they were very professional - although stern as expected. All went well but after they left a neighbor approached me and informed me that two big men from probation came to her door a day before and asked her personal questions about my private life such as how many boyfriends/men come in and out of my home, if I seem promiscuous, am I good mother, etc. My 11 year old was on the other side of the locked door and they insisted he open it. He refused and wet his pants in the meantime. They searched for my landlord via neighbors telling them I had a medical condition and could be laying on floor inside my home. They didn't get in however my neighbor said they were very intimidating w/hands on their pistols.I advised her to make a complaint. Isn't this unethical at the very least?
Your on probation not parole so you have not given up all your rights. You can make an honest complaint about the situation, but it would be in your best interest if your neighbor and your son would sign sworn statements about what she told you. Probation officers have a code of conduct they have to work by, to behave in such a manner is unethical. And Im thinking they werent real P.O.s Could someone you know have something against you? Contact an atttorney asap. You do have rights.
