Hmmm. I may be wrong and I apologize in advance but a capias warrant? You went further through the system than you are letting on. Capias warrants are not issued for not going to an initial hearing. They are issued when someone enters a plea and does not comply with the terms of the judgment. Thus the high bond and why they want you 9 years later I suspect. You tell me.

Its cuz you ran. Thats what your in trouble for...not the diaper. I think youl be fine. The judge wouldnt do that if you plead gulity and expalin that you were afraid. Your record is clean. Youl get community service I reckon.Good luck and sorry for your troubles.xox

You're probably going to get about what you would have gotten in the first place, maybe plus a little something for not showing up the first time, just to remind you not to be so dumb. But nothing terrible, except that you might have moved the prosecutor to rule out recommending some of the lesser options. Especially when you might well have told a store employee about your problem before you stole from them, and they might well have just given you the diaper.

uh i don't think you will go to court over this. The circumstances will help you. Just make sure you tell the whole truth. They might give you community service but I think that is the worse that is going to happen. The bad thing is the running but if this was your first offense i believe they will let you go. Everything in law depends on the judge.

I do not believe you are not telling the whole story and suspect there is a big chunk that is missing. A diaper is $0.50 at best, it is a simple misdemeanor in which no jail is usually given and usually a fine is given instead. So to say that you have a $10,000 bond for something that normally would be bonded at no more than a $1,000 and even if you ran like you said I would suspect the bond would be no more than $2,500. Furthermore they are coming after you for simple misdemeanor crime that happened 9 years ago does not make sense. I am willing to bet you stole more than what you are stating and the charge is a felony charge. If it my guess is correct, that you are not being honest and the charge is a felony, then most likely you will face some jail time and you son most likely be placed in the care of the State.

I'd plead nolo (not guilty - not innocent). Usually you can use this for a first time offense. I can't believe they are going to go through the expense of this. No wonder our Courts are clogged up. But it will be a misdemeanor charge - but because you ran - you may get probation and fines - you should not serve time. If you are really concerned, I'd get a lawyer or at least a Public Defender. Or at least talk to one on the phone to give you a little advice. Good luck to you.

you are in trouble because you RAN you could have fixed everything when you got caught the first time, you need to be honest in court and tell them exactly what happened why you stole the diaper, why you ran, why you went to a different state and why you came back. then, whatever happens you need to take your punishment..... you did something wrong now you need to accept the consequences of your actions...

Whenever you don't show up for a court date, you automatically have a warrant filed against you unless you come to the courthouse and tell them/turn yourself in. You'll be able to get out the following day.
You got an extra high bond for looking as though you were fleeing it. Plead guilty, do the probation and you'll be ok. Say not guilty and you'll be screwed.

If this is your 1st offense, you will probably be offered probation plus fines. Get an attorney, you will get a better deal.
