Yes, I do like the police. I suspect many people don't like them because they enforce the laws. There are reasons why laws are created, even though some seem harsh and/or stupid. Law enforcement people do not have an easy job. When a crime is committed, police need to know what happened, how it happened and who did it. Too many people refuse to cooperate by saying they don't know anything, didn't see anything, or hear anything. Then the next thing they say is why don't you do anything or arrest someone. If everyone obeyed the laws, there wouldn't be such distruct between the citizens and law enforcement.

NO. After that rejection letter from them I received, I am taking "sore loser" to a whole new level!!

If any police officer from the department in which I applied and they rejected harshly me, asks me for assistance in locating a room or service, my response will be;
"Hello, thanks for visiting, however do to your irresponsibility, immaturity or instability places you permanently outside my ability to help you. If you have any objections please submit a written request within the next 10 days and I will get back to you promptly. Your department denied me, I am not going to help you."
If they ever want to question me, be it about anything from a background investigation or a crime, I am not going to talk.

Payback, the legal way!

I like them. I want to be a Police Officer in the UK (I'm doing a Policing degree next year, and becoming a part-time PCSO at the same time). I have seen evidence of Police Officers being real idiots, through rudeness, unhelpfulness, or whatever. But I would say the vast majority of Police Officers are great people, who put up with a lot for our safety, and I've yet to meet one unpleasant cop myself.

I've never had a reason not to trust or rely on the police. And who cares if you're a cop or not. Anyways, I like the police just fine. They've never done anything to give me a reason not to like them. But I guess it's also because I obey the law.

I like them, in the same manner that I like gargling hydrochloric acid before choir practice.

I also trust them, much like I trust osama bin laden w a nuke, a retard & a mule.

Of course I rely on them; I also rely on w 43 & cheney to uphold the constitution.

I like the police, as to what defines who they are. They're all individuals, so just like engineers, cashiers, mechanics, lawyers, construction workers, janitors, etc, they're all different.

No and No. I'm 44 years old and I honestly can say I have never had a single positive encounter with the police. Though I have no criminal record, not even a speeding ticket, I have been questioned and harassed on a couple occasions. I have been asked to allow a search of my vehicle which I refused. I have had my personal property broken into 3 times but never heard a word after filing a report each time.

I can't Imagine what would happen if I weren't white.

Like the outlaw biker groups, 99% are honest hard working diligent people who really do care.
Why else would someone put their life one the line for you.
What do you pay someone to patrol the streets and chase the bad guys DAILY?
Is 20 an hour enough.
Police enjoy doing what they do because we as the thin Blue line do care about society.

Nice try, officer. ;)

But anyway, no, not really. I have been unnecessarily harassed by the police when not bothering anyone and keeping to myself. I have had more cops be obnoxious towards than nice when I have almost ALWAYS been polite and courteous when talking to an officer.

When my apartment got broken into, the officer was just blowing smoke up my *** the entire time. I knew that my case would be low priority but they asked me if there were anything they could possibly get finger prints from. I know they touched a smooth, large plastic surface and the officer told me "oh, no, we can't get a fingerprint from that." I wish he had just said "sorry, but we have more important things in this city than to find a petty criminal breaking into your apartment." I understand and respect that, I just wish they would show me an equal level of respect.
