AAA	No, its too much. The paramedic that was "assaulted" was not the driver of the ambulance. the paramedic was clearly interfering with the officers duties as a law enforcement officer. He should have been arrested and the charges should not have ben dropped against the paramedic. This is a classic example of the department not backing their officer. I do agree that the officer should undergo anger management as cooler heads could have prevailed and the situation might have been handled better, but this is after the fact. We can't monday morning quarter back this issue because there is more than one way to skin a cat. The officer made a legitimate traffic stop, made a legit arrest. corvette	Cops aren't supposed to conduct court on the street. They either warn you or ticket you and that;s it. Punishment is carried out by the courts,,,,not the cop. The cop went way to far...and obviously doesn't understand his role in Law Enforcement. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

FireFighter523	I saw this when it first came out. The only way an ambulance doesnt have to yield is when they are running code (lights and sirens). If the ambulance failed to yield then he was causing a traffic hazard. If you arent running code, you are supposed to obey all normal traffic laws. I do think the trooper could have handled the situation a little better. He started the whole thing because he wasnt keeping his cool, which caused the whole thing to escalate. So do I think it was adequate? No. everybody involved should be fired. There is no excuse for this type of behavior for emergency responders. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

OGRE!!!	no way. i saw the video and that guy deserves to be fired. @AAA: "The officer made a legitimate traffic stop, made a legit arrest" False. This whole issue stems from the cop who was pissed that an ambulance did not yield to him. The law (where this happened) states that an ambulance has the right of way in an emergency situation (which there was - there was a patient in the back on the way to the hospital). The cop was furious, gripped up the paramedic, and arrested him. The cop is clearly at fault here and there was absolutely NO reason for any kind of physical contact. @bamafirefighter The reason they didn't have lights & sirens on was because the patient had a heart condition where he could have easily had a heart attack in a stressful situation like riding in the back of a loud, noisy, violently jarring ambulance.
