I make minimum wage in my area. Which is $7.30 an hour. I was bringing in about 30-60 hours a week, and most weeks looking at a $300+ check. That was part time. The pay isn't great, at least until you are a Medic. I made enough to have an apartment with my best friend, and pay all of my bills, and still have enough to go out.
I look at the low hourly wage being made up by the fact that in a 24 hour shift, I would work maybe 6 hours. So... like roughly $130 dollars, for 6 hours of work... the rest of the time... I hung out... I was good friends with most of the people I worked with, had friends stopping by the station ALL the time, and slept. I really couldn't ask for a better job.

My husband is an EMT. He does it for a hobby not a real job. He works 48 hours a month and brings home about $350. He has been doing this for about 4 years. It is his thing he loves it, but it doesn't pay the bills.

well it depends on the schedule; my schedule is a 24 hour on 48 off rotation, and the pay I receive doesn't make up for the effort I put into it, nor does the OT pay.
