Am I the only person here who has never wanted a gun for self defense?

rpwirthwein	aren't you lucky that no one has broken into your home or attacked you on the street? that really is wonderful... now..think about what you would do if someone did break into your house..with intent to do harm...would you like the ability to defend yourself, or just lie passive while it occurred? the more important point here is the second amendment..."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." we are a country that has the freedom to choose... the founding fathers built into our constitution a way...a remedy to a government no longer standing for the people, but oppressing and obligating individuals to work for the "state"... they defeated one and did not want another taking it's place.... we are truly blessed for their insight..for their bravery.. for their love of freedom... cross-stitch kelly	I don't know about magic spells, but I don't like guns either. My husband has them, but they've been hidden under the bed as long as we've been married (10 years). Actually, he has ways of getting back at people that I've never heard of before, like burning black candles as a way of "getting rid" of someone. Just because we have a 2nd Amendment (Right to Bear Arms) doesn't mean we HAVE to bear arms. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

sandand_surf	Magic spells would be cool! I've thought about getting a gun, but unless you practice shooting the thing regularly (weekly), and have a very level head, you're probably more likely to hurt yourself or have the gun taken from you becuase you don't have the nerve or accuracy to actually shoot a person. Or you just might freeze from the shock of it all. Few people really have the ability to keep calm and do what is necessary during a mugging or a break in. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

StealthBeast	No one's broken into my home either. And no one went into Virginia Tech and killed 30 people before then, but guess what? My only request is that you don't try to FORCE me to "choose" what YOU believe in. Greg P	You are more than welcome to choose to have a gun free house hold. I strongly advise against it, and there may come a time you wish you had bought one, but it is your constitutional right to decide not to own a gun. What is not your right is to tell me that I can't own a gun or to force hundreds of insane laws designed to make it almost impossible for me to own a gun legally. Jerry H	I'm sure you aren't the only one and you're certainly welcome to practice any kind of magic you wish. That's what a free country is all about. I'm glad you've been fortunate in you lack of encounters with the criminal element. Some of us haven't been so lucky. The problem is, the past does not predict the future. You may go your entire life and never be attacked. You may be assaulted and robbed, or worse, tomorrow. Perhaps your magic has given you a functioning crystal ball, but most people don't have one. It's been said that a gun is like a parachute in that most people will never need one, but, when you do need one, you need it right now, nothing else will do, and you can't go home and get it. I hope your good fortune continues and wish everyone could be so lucky. I haven't been, nor have a number of my friends.
