question about vehicle insurance...?
If my son get into an accident with my car and his name is not in the insurance policy, will I be cover?...does it make make any different if it's his fault or the other driver?
sooo if the accident didnt happen yet get him added/or talk to ins co if he had accident/ they should cover the first if its not too long a time period/ my insurance co asks if there are any other drivers/ dont lie they will cancel
Laws vary by state. The police will always issue a ticket to the person they feel is the responsible party. For the car insurance claim in a "no fault" state your insurance pays your claim regardless of who the ticket was issued to. In other states the person ticketed is presumed to be the responsible party so their insurance company will pay all insurance claims.
As for your insurance and covering your son, in most cases insurance covers the car regardless of who is driving, as long as that person had permission to be driving the car. You need to ask your agent for clarification.
If the accident caused sufficient damage you need to call insurance immediately and give the the facts and the truth about the accident. You may need to contact a lawyer if the damage is significant or includes any personal injury.
