sting@police r amazing
i never get time to use my permit, EVER?
Im 16, and have had my permit since augst 19, 5 days before my 16th birthday. and i have only driven about an hour and 20 min. Which is about 3 times. 2 times in a parking lot, and once with my sisters car. And my dad didn't know i was driving with my sister around one tiny block. This is so annoying to me. The one time, they wanted me to drive, which was at the beach, i didn't have my permit. Because whats the point of having my permit, if i never ever had a purpose to use it? He says i should always carry my permit for ID... I'm sorry, but Ive never been asked once for ID, and im 16.

My parents say, it all depends on grades, and If my grades aren't good enough. FOR interims, then i have to wait for report cards to show up. And when my grades are good enough, my dad always uses his car all the time

Problem is, my mom is in a wheelchair. So we only have one car. And its so unfair, that most of my friends have more experience then me( and have 2 cars from both there parents) so driving is 10 times more available for them. And they have had their permit much less time then i have. :(
i love driving :( and i appreciate the 3 times, i got to drive, its sad that i get a rush, when driving 15 mph. while, my best friend is like, oh ive driven over 30 to 40mph.
Additional Details
Is there anything i could do, to get more driving time, besides getting better grades?

"And its so unfair, that most of my friends have more experience then me"

You're joking right?

WHY would your friends and you have anything to do with each other? Your friends are in a different situation than you.

Are you going to say it's unfair if one of them is rich, and you're not? If one of them is smarter than you? Etc?

Get over it.

And your dad is right. Bring a permit anywhere you go. Let's say you're walking around, and get hit by a drunk driver. Don't you think it'd be useful if the hospital could identify your mangled body?

There's more uses for a permit than just getting asked to show it....

And that way, you can't complain about them not giving you a chance to drive, when they clearly do, and you just don't have your permit.

I agree with Vipassan.

If you want to have responsibilities of an adult, then you need to do things such as carry your permit with you. It is an ID. As an adult, if you are caught driving without your license then you get a ticket and have to pay a fine!!

Second, what you have going on in your life has NOTHING to do with other kids lives. Think about it. There are MILLIONS of kids out there and they are all having a different experience. For me, we had no money and I didn't even get my Drivers license until I was 20. AND I didn't even get my FIRST CAR until I was 25!!!!! (However, my cousin's first car was a used Lexus- and she was upset that she got a USED car for her first car!!) EVERYBODY's experience will be completely different. This goes for when you are an adult to- you can't compare your life to everyone else's and still be happy.

Also, remember that driving is a PRIVILEGE. You have to EARN your trust from your parents and part of that is turning in good grades. You will have your time. Prove yourself to your parents and you will get your turn in the car. You have to prove you can be responsible and mature to your parents, because driving is a HUGE responsibility!!

I recommend asking your father (nicely and with respect), what you need to do to be able to get a lesson with him. Once you know what it is DO it, and then take the initiative to set up a time with your dad to go for a lesson. You may have to get up super early one morning to do it, or give up watching your favorite show- but it will be worth it to get driving time.

Be patient...
