There are lots of questions to be answered here. First, who owns the vehicle? Is the true owner still living or deceased? If deceased, who was awarded the car from the estate? Are you sure the vehicle isn't a stolen vehicle? If there is a license plate on the car you might try and have the plate run or take the VIN number to the local law enforcement and have them run the vehicle to see who was the last owner of the vehicle? Before I done anything, I would try and find out as much as possible about this vehicle as I could before I tried to get it in my name. You can always contact your local DMV office and see what they tell you. They will have a certain procedure you have to follow to do what you are wanting to do. It may be tied up in an estate battle and if it is you may have a hard time getting a title if at all. Do all of your homework prior to spending any money because you might end up loosing a bunch of money and still not have ownership of the vehicle.
