When someone else drives your vehicle, are you still insured?
Just wondering what would happen if someone else drives your car, and they hit something or get into an accident? And to be clear - yes they have a license, are insured with their own vehicles(not sure this matters), and you are also insured and licensed. Does it matter if the owner of the vehicle is in the car? I'm curious as a friend of mine might babysit my car for a couple of weeks while I'm out of town and want to make sure I cover all my bases..

Ask your agent prob not. Dont let people drive your car unless you are impaired. Even then a taxi takes a wile but saves a lot. A person with a dwi.

Insurance is a state regulated entity. Depending on what state you live in, not by what company you're with, is how it's decided. In most states, the insurance follows the vehicle. So no matter who is driving your vehicle, as long as they have your permission to drive it, it would be covered. Keep in mind, this would include any injuries the could receive in the accident and if they are at fault for one, it would affect your insurance, not theirs. Hope this helps.

You can loan out your car if you have "permissive use" on your policy. Most big companies have it.

If you have "named insured" only listed drivers can drive. If you have that kind of policy I would change companies.

Check with your agent. If you have " permissive use" your fine.

If you have full coverage and you gave that person your permission to drive your car, then probably yes. Best to check your policy or ask your agent.

Generally(unless the driver is specifically excluded), if the driver has your permission to use the vehicle, you and the driver are both covered up to your policy limits. Since the driver has coverage of their own, the driver's coverage will kick in as excess primary should your coverage be exhausted.

You should double check with your agent.
