I was in a car accident a while back in my 2000 Plymouth Breeze. The car was towed and later the insurance company said it was totaled. I didnt let them total the car and went to pick the car up. Later, i received a check and used the money to get the car fixed. My friend was just in a accident Dec 31, 2008 in my car. It was established by the police and the other driver that it wasnt his fault. The insurance company has claimed that the car is absolutely totaled this time. I was wondering will i receive any money for the car to help get another car even though the insurance company claimed it a total loss the first time?

No, you will not get any money. It was totaled, meaning it is now titled as a salvage.
Sure hope you were not paying for full coverage insurance for it. If you were, call the insurance and tell them to give you your money back (for the full coverage portion).

you will get a value of your vehicle based on a salvage value.
Meaning if your vehicle has a salvage value of $1000 this would be all you get. Once it's salvaged that's the end of the road for value.
And IF you kept full coverage on it, no you're not entitled to a refund. Most insurance companies will not insure salvage vehicle for collision and comprehensive coverages. only liability.

If it's been totalled once and has a salvage or rebuilt title, that automatically drops the value of the car in half. So, if it was totalled out at $2,000 before, now it's totalled out at $1,000. And if you want to keep it, that's probably going to be the salvage value as well - so, no payment.
