If you haven't yet and they schedule you for one, then not showing up on your part would obviously lead to the denial of the petition. Now if you already have been interviewed and are just waiting for the decision, there might still be a way for you to contact USCIS and revoke the petition. I would recommend contacting USCIS to schedule an infopass appointment at your local office and find out what your options are. As long as he hasn't gotten his green card yet, then you might still have time to cancel the petition which would then render the I-864 invalid. 2 years is an awful long time and very unusual, but at least because of this it might not be too late for you to get out of the sponsorship. To others: She is saying he hasn't gotten his green card yet and has been renewing his EAD/work permit every year. He wouldn't have to do that if he already had his green card.
