Hi
I am currently in Canada on a work permit from India and my wife and child applied for a dependent visa. The visa for my family was rejected as the immigration official feels that my family will continue to stay in Canada.I provided all the documents and my company isssed other supporting documents as well. Any idea/tips on how can I proceed?
Additional Details
Now can I re-submit my application with the prrofs of returning to India like property docs, return tickets etc? Do I have a good chance?

Documentation holds key to any visa approval. I would suggest you also contact a reputed immigration attorney who can help you with the documentation and also suggest you other options.

It's very hard to get approval from some embassies. I am sure when you applied for your work permit, you told them they don't need to worry about you overstaying because you are leaving your wife and child behind. Now the wife and child want to come so who are they leaving behind?
You need to find some stronger ties in India to prove that you will all return there at the end of your work permit.

Although you can always appeal a decision the fact is that immigration officials don't just arbitrarily make them. What evidence did you supply to the officer that indicated your wife and child would leave after the visa expires? Evidently, you did not supply enough evidence.
Immigration Canada is increasingly wary of people who apply for visas as many who do don't go home after the visa expires and I suspect that is the source of a lot of their suspicions.
If you want to inquire, you can certainly do that and ask specifically why the immigration officer made the decision she or he made.

did you show proof that your family WILL GO HOME
YOU MUST show that your family members back in India -
that they are in school OR have jobs,
that they have a lease or mortgage,
that they OWN a house (NOT a slum),
That they have bills to pay and
that they have a RETURN ticket to go back to India at the end of the visit. This return ticket must include ALL members of the family.
if they cannot show this proof, then they will NOT be approved to enter Canada.
