Acts of life. Does life teach us to be strong?
My grandmother was born in Russia - not a russian citizen. She lived there until the age of 23 when she got married. Then after a Stalin's edict, she and many others were exiled. Her husband was a Russian. She had to leave him - he was not allowed to follow her. After a six month marriage they had to say goodbye to each other. On the dock, as they were holding their hands suddenly lost each other because of the crowd. They didn't even have a farewell kiss.
When she arrived here, she had to fight with the poverty. After a while the country got under the German occupation. Everyday on the road to the factory she and her sister faced people in every corner of the streets that were dying of hunger. They had to survive. Until now she counts two more marriages, a respectful property and an adopted daughter (which is my mother) and so many many other facts of life...In fact that makes me wonder many times about the hidden strength that we have.

being alive in everyday life is one reason that a person is strong... you know why... because some people who can not handle their problem properly committed suicide... in that way they are not strong enough to face their problem... that makes them weak...
for me... what makes a person strong is FACING your daily PROBLEM... thru this problem you will learn experience that will help you to be strong... in the future time...
experience is your best teacher... hope my answer tickle your mind... bye...

The Story you just told Does show how Life's Lessons build character and resolve to succeed in life. It also teaches the grim reality of Socialist Communism. I hope that you write a book about your grandmother and people like her and their experiences. It is a lesson that can be taught to Democracies toying with the same notions in America. Thanks for that story.

I see sunshine already beat me to my answer. I was going to say that, what ever we experience in life, if it doesn't kill us, it will make us stronger, but also if it doesn't make us stronger, it will make us crazy.

Yes I think all our experiences in life make us who we are as a person. It's how we react to our experiences that counts. Just because something bad happens doesn't mean that we're being punished.Hard times can strengthen a person and enable them for even harder experiences later on.

.:Ich.Bin.Eine.Engel:.
Life is one big lesson and one big adventure that is composed of many other small adventures. It teaches us how to be whom we can ultimately be should we have the iniative to do so. It teaches us how to love and to care. It teaches us how to be stupid and how to be smart. It shows us the negativities and the positivity in this world. Most of all it will evaluate your purpose in this world. It will allow you to use your incredible gift of intellect to create a story that no one else has / or ever will write / written. It's the story of your life. Life teaches you everything you need to know.
