Candians Getting USA Green Card?
|
I am a canadian and i hold TN visa work permit in USA. I wish to apply for Green Card. Do i need to first apply for H1? Is there any special time frames or laws for Canadians to get GreenCard? What are the usually time frames? I need to renew my TN visa every year, So, does TN renewals effect Green Card application Status?

They have a right (even changing nationalties) like Iraks have a right to get Green card.

No, you do not need an H-1 before you can get a Green Card. The best thing you can do is meet with someone in HR and discuss with them whether they are willing to sponsor your Green Card. Also contact an immigration office to see what assistance they can provide.
All Green Card applications take about a year to go through, but once the application is in you should get your EAD card within a few weeks. I'm not an immigration lawyer but that's my understanding of the process.
