Why do some drivers drive on a person's bumper even if the driver isn't a slow driver and driver can Pass?

eric	They are absent minded and don't realize they're following too close. They assume nothing will happen and you'll never stop quickly to avoid hitting an animal, person, etc. Basically, if there are 2 or more lanes in each direction, you need to be in the slow or middle lane (not the lane meant for passing) if you're being tailgated in the passing lane. If you're being tailgated in the slow or middle lane and there's a lane next to them that's clear (and not a car pool or HOV lane), then I agree, they should pass or back off. If you're being tailgated on a 2 lane road, then maybe they are looking for the first chance to pass or their turn is coming up. Otherwise, if they don't take a chance to pass or don't want to pass, they should back off. Basically, these drivers don't think an accident could happen. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

cally	because they are idiots who are under the illusion that they own the road... they seem to think that this will intimidate you and make you move-when in reality this makes me more annoyed and i drive slower to annoy them...just a bit of sweet revenge... LeahDivaWolf	There was a survey of bad drivers last year, it showed some of the worst, had some of the highest IQs. The most notable, was a constant ticket/accident for driving on someone's bumper. Oye91709	They could be on their cell phone and not even realize that the lane next to them is open. You could take a person who is on their phone while they are driving. Most likely they could not tell you the speed limit, name of the street, how many traffic lights they just passed, or the nearest freeway (assuming they are familiar with the area).
