Why do some crosswalks beep sometimes and not others?
They beep for blind people, right? But why do some crosswalks beep at random times? Why don't they beep all of the time (or during certain hours) or none of the time? I have seen them beep during one cross, then not beep on the next, in the middle of the day. And I've seen them beep at night. What determines whether these things beep or not? Additional Details Do you understand what I'm saying when I say "beep"? I mean an audible noise. It's making sound. It's not the crosswalk staying on "don't walk" - I will see it from a distance and hear that it beeps, then when I get to the crosswalk and press the button, next time it doesn't beep.
