tunisianboy46	Firstly I would challenge this notice as the speed limit zone is non-specific. I have had a parking ticket cancelled due to the fact the incorrect information was written on the ticket. The law is clear of this. You the driver must be in no doubt as to what is being alleged. If there is doubt you must gain the benefit of that doubt. If for example you received a notice saying that you were caught travelling at 36 mph in a zone with a limit of 30 then you have no chance of proving otherwise. But a ticket like yours is quoting multi speed limits. This is sufficient to argue in court over, the ticket should be cancelled. There was a case of a man challenging the accuracy of the speed radar gun used in his case. It was tested and it came back with this fault. The independent observer recorded a tree doing 18mph. The test had to include a non moving object! Case was dismissed on the grounds of unreliable equipment. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

leejcole	I call it "stupidity tax". Speed cameras are big, yellow and generally near where there are lines in the road. Getting caught is a result of not paying attention which one day could kill you!! 17 years driving, full no claims, nil points. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Meresa	I am so sorry that you got caught by Big Brother. Speed and Red Light cameras have nothing to safety and everything to do with generating revenue. In Houston they have them set up so they will issue civil fines as opposed to criminal which sidesteps your right to due process. I encourage you to fight your ticket. vf29_sandman	there's a lawsuit still ongoing in girard ohio over the use of speed camera's. their argument is, if a cop tags u for speed, it's a criminal violation with points on the license. if the camera catches u, it becomes a 'civil' violation with no points. they claim the camera is unconstitutional under due process. a cop didnt write u a ticket charging the actual operator of the violation. with a camera, i could be the 1 driving the car, but since the car is registered to u, u wind up with the ticket to pay. currently, there's an injunction against use of the camera until the issue is fully resolved, and so far, it's been declared unconstitutional and in violation of state law from due process. max	Maybe if you reversed at 63 mph past the camera you would get your money back! Tom Tom is no good - you need to get version 2, TomTomy Gun and shoot all the cameras out on your way past and do us all a favour ;-) Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

kenjinuk	No this is not a constructive war, Mr Blunkett has made criminals out of the motoring population. I agree with limiting speed in built up areas but traffic calming is not working. Your Tom Tom might pay for itself over a few years, but you have the points on your licence for 2 years, join the club 28 years clean licence then 6 points in the space of a month. Beware of the mobile cameras, not sure if the Tom Tom system can pick those up, overall it might make us stick to the speed limit.
