I'm republican, your point?	1. no 2. yes 3. most definately. You must have never driven a stick shift before. First and second gears get you going, but you're not going to go over about 25 without your RPMS going through the roof. If you tried highway speeds, you would destroy your engine from overheating and your transmission from over stressing. When I had an automatic transmission, I only used first and second when I got stuck in snow and needed the extra RPMs short term for the little power burst. Plus, the Stratus transmission isn't the best to begin with, don't do anything to make it any worse. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Chuckles	The 1 and 2 positions are for when you need a lot of power at LOW speeds. Like climbing a steep hill. Most people never use them. If you do not know what they are for, just leave it in "D". And if there is a button on the side of the shifter, it controls the Overdrive (O/D). make sure that the light on the instrument cluster that says "O/D OFF" is not ;it. If it is, push the button on the side of the shifter so the light goes off. Driving with O/D OFF lit gives you more power but you will use 25% more gas. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

hello	1. no, your mileage will be much worse. perhaps even 'hummeresque'. 2. it could, although it's not likely. 3. yes. even if your car will run hwy speeds in 1 (it won't) your RPM's will be so high that you will eventually burn up the motor. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
