Oh my gawd!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course, what are you are implying is that God couldn't care less about other humans (God must be American).
Christ almighty, what an offensive question.
Don't bring God (who I don't believe anyway) into a situation created by human beings.

4,000 dead is 4,000 too many. Our hardware has helped reduce death and injury rate but that remains way too high.

The Iraq War is a different type of war than anything the world has ever seen. The Iraq war is NOT a world war, so we cannot compare it to one. This is a guerilla war-- we know not who our enemy is by simply observing him/her on the street and may be ambushed at any time. Our military is also extremely spread out due to this guerilla warfare situation, which results in fewer deaths.

Germany had better trained troops(then iraq) and superior weopons (to the us)
The american military is not fighting an army. The are fighting a civilian population. America's military has superior weopons and training and equipment. It almost looks like training erercise for having to fight a civilian population in an urban setting.

it's not a high intensity conflict like WWII was, it is a different type of a war. not to mention that God just might be looking out for them you can never discount that aspect.

Forget War Buy More

As a member of a military family with a loved one overseas, I find this statement incredibly callous.
The next one could be my brother and that's more than I would ever want.
There are also soldiers living with injuries moreso than ever before. We have men and women coming back with severe burns, brain injuries, and missing limbs. Many come home wishing they hadn't.
I hope to God you never have to deal with the anxiety military families have to deal with. I also hope you develop compassion.

Not making light of real people who have sacraficed their lives for this country, but 4000 is a very, very small number! Consider that in just one day of a Civil War battle we would loose up to 3000-4000 lives! We only had about 25 to 27 million people living in this country at that time. The 4000 out of 25 million is very high vs. todays numbers. God bless our military!

More have die. Only 4000 in Iraq. If someone dies a week later in a military Hospital in Germany ,after getting caught in a IED blast in Iraq, that doesnt count in the offical count.

Only 4,000 dead?
You really need to get a life child, perhaps you should ask your teacher the next time you go to school.

we only have a small precentage of troops in Iraq compared to the 4 million that served in WWII
however the death rate is the lowest ever thanks to the body armor and the medical systems we have in place
however, the rate of brain injury is the highest ever becuase soldiers are surviving that would have been dead in any previous war, but thier brains were scrambled in thier skull from the concusions of the IED's

4000 dead troops in Iraq
what is the number for Afganistan
WW2 was a different war, it was fought on foot , the equipment was terrible . With the advances in equipment and aircraft the war has less causalities. 4000 is alot o f soldiers that is a lot of sons , daughters , brothers , sisters, moms and dads that will never go home. And that is what makes it so sad, that we have 10000X's better equipment then the heroes of ww2 and vietnam and the insurgents still manage to kill our soldiers. Have you ever fely what it is like when a platoon or company losses even one soldier. It is gut wrenching because you stunk together, complained together , laughed together and then they are gone. And when you finally fly home you should be happy but all you can feel is guilt that you get to go on living and even though their bodies came home . Their last breath was in a country that hated them. I hope god is watching over the troops.

lets put this in prospective.
The US fighting in Iraq is like teenager beating up a 5 year old.
Equipment wise, they didn't have a chance. also this is not a conventional war such as WWII. If the US was fighting an enemy that had similar technology, um mm, it might get a little ugly.
The religious part, I really don't think God is taking sides in a war.

Training. Experience of how to do things and not do things in battle. Lessons from previous battles gone towards training to provide an effective force with the ability to fight effectively. Another reason. This conflict was not a full war, it is being fought against insurgents and loyalists and terrorists. If it were being fought against another trained and organised military with effective weapons the death tole would be higher. In WW2 the allies were fighting such a force. It makes the battle harder and more casualties are expected.

Any is too many. Fortunately we have the finest, best trained, best equipped troops in the world or that number would be much higher.

He is however our tactics and modern weaponry has provided that edge. I think it is proportionately amazing at what little loss of life there has been!

Some of it's because of body armor, some of it's from tainted stats (people dieing after they left the battlefield and not being counted) and some of it's because of excessive firepower (blowing up a building a sniper is using). Medical technology also helps repair people that would have died.
