Everybody is going to have different opinions on which are better. Just know that the Marines are tough as nails, which means they get all the second hand equipment (sometimes even broke) and are less funded than any military branch. A common word that I hear Marines use all the time is "improvise" The Army gets the best equipment and is a lot more funded than the Marines.

Depends on your motivation. The Army seems to have a better lifestyle, more variety in terms of types of jobs available and as a result, more jobs that transfer to private sector. Still Marines have that special something.
When I was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood we had some Marines in my OBC class. I always made sure to get to PT early so I could see the marines run by and go to the DFAC for breakfast so I could see them in their little green PT shorts. Lord-dee those green shorts. They had bodies like nothing we had in the Army. ;-)
Good luck in your decision!

I've seen some pretty retarded people get into the Marines...it depends on what you want to do. The Marines promote slower because there are fewer of them and fewer slots for grade and job, etc. They have tougher physical fitness standards, but that doesn't really make someone BETTER that anyone else, even in the military. It depends on what you want to do.
And oh yeah you retards above me; Army deployments usually extend to greater than 12 months, Marines only go for 9 so how are Marines the first in and the last out? The Army AND the Marines went into Iraq at the same time. And PLEASE don't choose your branch of Service based on a slogan...
Focus on the job you want to do and find out which branch has more opportunities for promotion and more places that you can be stationed. You may want to look at pay, too. One is no more honorable than the other.
And Marines are ground forces. They rely on Navy for everything else.

Marines. Think about one of thier saying. They are looking for a FEW good men. A FEW. Not just anyone, this question is monstly an opinion question. But if you want to know which one is actually better, have a Marine fight an Army person. Just kidding, that wouldn't prove anything. It all depends on what you are looking for. Education? Job variety? What kind of job?

The Army has a greater range of missions and is involved in more. Look at every deployment our military has done and there was an Army unit present. The Army also allows you to do more than the Marines (Airborne, Ranger, Green Beret, etc.). Not to mention that promotion rates in the Army far exceed any other branch.
The Army also has more installations around the world which means a greater opportunity to travel. With the Marines you are either in Japan, California or North Carolina. Army you can go Germany, Italy, Hawaii, Alaska, Japan and numerous locations other locations in the United States.
Despite what people may say or think the Army does it better. Ask Europeans who came storming on their beaches and falling out of the sky to their rescue in 1941. Who was the first to walk into Baghdad in 2003? Who pulled Saddam out of his hole? Who called in the air strike to kill Zarqawi (props to the Air Force on the drop by the way)?
ARMY STRONG!!!!

What do you want to do?
A quick strike force than get out Marines are you guys.
A quick strike force than help set up things and help educate the local fighters Army
The both break things well it is the Army that is normally there for the long haul.

Army all the way I hate marines because they are so gung ho and usally end up dead most of the time. the army bails the marines out of trouble and marines get hand me downs from army, like the army carrys the m4 mostly and the marines all carry m16s. also army has the saw and the marines have the m60 plus the marines still have the old cobra. army is better also there are special forces in the army the marines have no special forces exept for recons which really dont count because there just lighter armed marines the scout plus marines have no airborne like army does.

Marines think they are better because that is all they are taught in basic training. They are people who are easily brain washed into believing they are indestructible. The Army can do anything the Marines can do better. We have better Special Ops, better Aviation, and better Combat Troops. We can maintain longer and go farther then any Marine Regiment. Bottom line, you want the job done call the Army. You want to blow up a bunch of stuff for no reason and mess everything up, call the Marines.

All these answers for the Marines? I got to stand up for the Army. It's the best. In fact the Marines send their tankers to the Army's Armor School to become qualified.
That said, the Corps is a good second choice!

Perception:
Army has more encompassing set of MOS, with everything from Rangers & Delta Force, to Civil Affairs.
Marines are thought to be more focused, with emphasis placed on the "battle rattle".
In either case, thank God we have both, and all branches of service!
