Nottingham man	WELL after speaking to my friend in the marines I am against it....scientifically men will save a woman but can leave a man injured, women have periods (although I dont see how the tempers can be bad in war) and they are physically weaker than men...so possibly not good for them? buzzin_benny	WOMAN in the army is a moral booster, ok, trust me. i'm in the army, but the only thingwrong is woman wanting to be on the FRONT LINE,,,, thats not good, think of the things that could happen, rape, torture and blackmail would be a big problem for the soldiers to cope with, lets just say, i woman got captured, the lads out on the field would want to get her back to safety...yeah, but that would mean risking more lives...if it was a man who got captured,,i mean yeah it would be sad and hard but the lads wouldn't seem to think they HAVE to rescue him because he is A MAN,, he can cope! thats why woman not allowed to join as front line soldiers, but the woman are allowed to be medics and desk clk's and lets face it, woman are better than men at paper work...lol steve Was this answer helpful to you? red	I am a girl (female) and I was in the Armed Services, to be exact the Army. I had no problem with the way guys treated me cuz I was in the Army. In fact I met my husband while serving in Germany. mentor	why on earth should not women serve in our armed forces, they work alongside us in other services such as the police/fire/ambulance and cope very well, in my view apart from actually serving on the front line there is not a job they could not do, as far as the front line is concerned, I do not feel it is right, simply because it is my personal opinion,whilst at the same time I do not agree they should just be nurses and cooks etc and given girlie tasks, there are loads of skills they have to offer in or out of a conflict situation and most have as much balls as men Was this answer helpful to you? Tammy	I was in the military when I was much younger, joined up as I felt the structure and discipline was well needed in my life at that point. headed down the wrong path back then. best thing I ever done with my life. I did find though, there was alot of stereotyping against woman. Men don't seem to give women enough credit for our high endurance of pain. Mens physiques, yes much stronger LOOKING, I am only 5'4" 125lbs pretty much the same as I was back then, I passed basic...NO SWEAT. all it is is mind over matter, outer strength comes from inner strength. Please guys, we are still women, doesn't mean we have inherited the male hormone; Great careers are available for both men and women. I would highly recommend it to both if not once in your life. such a rewarding career or challenge of achievment of what your training is for. keep the peace! Was this answer helpful to you? d957jazz retired chef	i am a retired msgt from the USAF ...i retired in 1986 with 20 years service... i feel if they can do the job i have no problems what so ever...the only benefit that women in the service get is if they get pregnant they can get out or they have the baby they get materiny leave..when we had our children i didn't get leave to help my wife take care of the baby.....but that's just my personal opinion..but when i was in i had some very sharp female airmen......and you question should be stated women in the armed services if they are willing to lay down their life for your country then they deserve to be called women..not girls... usamedic420	There are no boys or girls in the military, men or women who are soldiers, marines, seamen or Airmen. I have served with some really great women who knew their stuff and were tough. We did have a few girly-girls who didn't want to break a nail. It reflects poorly on all women when the few poor examples are seen. Dorkus Kahn	I believe it's probably a distraction to men. When they first started letting women in, they all kept getting knocked up. As another person answered, a man will worry more about a woman instead of his commrades. Ever heard of "women and children first"? I mean, look how much media attention that female soldier got in the Iraq war when she was captured. Didn't see that many in depth stories for male soldiers. Finally, it lowers military standards. We have very high standards for our soldiers but women simply cannot perform up to those. So, in the name of "equality" the standards are lowered. tattooed.dragon	I served in the Army and (this is in 15 or so years ago) we didn't have much time for women except for the nurses. We would go on patrol with females who were unarmed and have to look out for them as well as ourselves. Personally, I think things have improved, but people should be there purely on merit (physically, mentally, etc.) ... if the forces truly viewed soldiers as soldiers, irrespective of gender, then there would be true integration - but that's not likely to happen any time soon.
