Unfortunately, it isn't. Most of the world wants them out, but Bush doesn't.
And frankly, even if we did withdraw, troops would probably remain, along with a puppet regime pouring oil into the US.

RUMOR is exactly what it is. Remember that John McCain said that this is going to be a 100 year war. The powers that be would like everyone right now to BELIEVE that there is going to be a troop pullout. There are NO PLANS in place to have a complete troop pullout. In fact, they are now requesting more troops. The only true fact is that they are going to reduce tours from 18 months to 12 months. That is the only TRUE fact right now. They intend to keep sending troops, only reducing the time they will spend over there as a tour. Rumors are dangerous. BUT....anyone who has been closely associated with the military knows that the military loves to cover up a lot. There are NO plans for total troop disbursement by July 2008. Just tours shortened to 12 months instead of 18. I would love to see all of our troops out of there tomorrow. I support each and every solider over there because I am a veteran, but I truly don't think we have any business fighting in a civil and religious war. I've always said, Bring our troops home!!!

Nope,
If the president ordered all the troops out tommrow.
They wouldn't be out of Iraq by July 2008.
It would take atleast a year, to withdraw the troops and equipment from iraq at the minimum.

I will stress this too. RUMOR. We can't be pulling out that fast. Besides, there is still work to be done over there.

I would say that this is exactly as you worded it. My husband was scheduled to leave August 1st and now it has been changed to November 1st. Due to "Boots on the Ground" which has changed the deployments to 12 months officially we got the letter on the military site two days ago. So that much is official. I agree with everyone else it will take atleast that long just to pull them out and remove all the equipment. As far as the draft ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE that is a rumor. There is no draft put into place. No matter what horror stories you hear about the draft there are thousands of soldier re-enlisting every day here in the states, over seas and in Iraq. My husband is one of them so there is no need for a draft. Most of the soldiers are more than willing to keep re-enlisting. They are trying to downscale the troops such as deploying only enough troops to replace the ones that are coming back. Hope this helps
