you are to young to join any branch of the military. but if you think this is something that you want to do then try finding the Young Marines or the Sea cadet program. they help teens explore the military life and allows them to see if it is right for them. I have been in the sea cadets now for 3 years and because of that i joined the navy. not only with this life experience you also get a higher rank then others joining.

Honestly, I think that you should do a little more research on joining the marines and think about if that's really what you want to do with your life. Don't you have any other interests besides running and shooting guns? If you do, then maybe look into a career down that path.

No, think about it a lot and talk to your parents and don't join until you are completely sure that is what you want to do and you are older. You could always change your mind and then end up not wanting to go and being forced to.

To begin with, you wont necessarily go and do something that will get you killed. You of course start off with basic training, and move up from there. It all depends on what you want to do in the military. There are hundreds of jobs withing the marines or any other military branch. You could be anything from a doctor to someone that just cleans up after everyone else. Of course there is always the possibility of getting hurt or killed, but thats not only in the military...i mean, you could die tripping over a shoe lace and breaking your neck while on your way to the kitchen. Like everything else, you should join because you think it is a job that you will enjoy. I think you should go for it if you feel strongly about it. If you are not all the way positive about it, dont do it. About half of the men in my family are or have been in the military and they all say the same...if your gut tells you to go, then go, if not, then move on...quickly.
Good Luck!

Do what you wanna do. You have some time to think about it. Do your research on the Marines and what MOS you would like to do. If you really want to do it go ahead and do it, do not let anyone else live your life.
Don't let your older brother influence your decision, anyone who has not done it has no right to put their ignorant opinion into your decision. It is a rewarding job and not everyone gets shot.
There is also a lot of good benefits you can come out with, so leave your options open.

yeah, i've thought about the marines, too... but, i'm still not sure if I could do everything i'm told to do, and eat, sleep, and breathe u.s.m.c.
in my opinion, that's the only downside to being a marine.

Try getting into one of the ROTC programs at a college when you're older. If you don't like it, then no harm done. It's something to think about.
Have any friends whose fathers are marines? Ask them what it's like. Maybe they can help you decide, too. But, that's a long way off.
Hope this helps!

First, you can not join the military until you are 18, or 17 with a parents signature, so you need to finish school and learn how to spell correctly...not text message.
Second, a 13:56 mile is way, way, way too slow. I am 34 and run 13 flat for 2 mile course in the Army.
Third, your rifle experience will mean nothing when you go to basic training. The military will train you how to shoot, they want you to shoot their way, not the way your father taught you.
So, my advice, pay attention in school, get good grades, work on your fitness, and if, when you are old enough, enlist. Contrary to popular belief, the military wants intelligent people, so make that your first goal, followed closely by your fitness.

play some ps3, get 7 girlfirends, make a fool of yourself 8 times, gain too much weight, loose weight, get drunk 28 times, get into 4 fights, fall in love twice, discover a hobby that you love but dont want to tell anyone, watch pulp fiction, love jesus, hate jesus, think about space, suddenly repect what ur your dad does, get beaten up once, have a horrible sexual experience, have a great one, wish you had a time machine, cry alone 3 times, realise that you are a man and you are cool with that.
you do all that and then fill in that form

13.56 isnt good for a mile time. my mile tim is 5:30, but that can be brought down with practice. i wouldnt join the marines while we are in Iraq, but it is a personal choice. if you want to or feel the need to, go ahead. i think it is a noble thing to do, but not for everyone. btw are you thinking about jrotc, b/c youre not old enough for the military. at that rate, you would not pass the fitness test (http://usmilitary.about.com/od/marines/l/blfitmale.htm). you would need to run at least a 28 min. 3 mile (not asking too much). thats about a 9:20 mile.

Well Im in the Army and we need to run a mile in 8:30. In the marines youve got to run it in less time than that. So if you want to become a Marine start running. And if youve been wanting to be a Marine its a calling, its God's plan for you, DO NOT IGNORE IT. I was the same way, ever since I was 5 or younger Ive always wanted to join the Army and I did. Go for it man. Glad to see another future brother.

You can't join until your 17, if your 17 you need parents permission, make sure you do a lot of research and make sure thats what you really wanna do. Make sure you look at the Ratio weight to height charts they have restrictions on them to get into the military. Also, get your diploma don't drop out of high school.
