my sons in the navy for the last 2 1/2 yrs. and he's married w/2 children. his starting salary was $282 a week ! you get free housing and you don't pay fed. taxes but even though he's gone up in rank, his pay is still low because he went in as an enlisted person!

That all depends on their pay grade. We get paid every two weeks and the main pay is your base pay, which I believe for the lowest ranking soldier (e-1) starts at $1300 monthly before taxes, but don't quote me to that. I do not have the updated pay chart. On top of base pay you can recieve housing allowance, special duty pay, hazardous duty pay, combat zone pay, flight pay, medical pay, etc. This helps a lot because the only taxable pay is your base pay, the rest is tax free. There are a lot of benefits to the military, however, before anyone joins I would advise to be prepared to deal with a lot of B.S., as there are many instances where your paperwork will be lost, record incorrect, and the such. If you can work with this, then you will have it pretty well financially set and can make more than a decent paycheck if you handle everything right.

I cant break it down per week. But having served in the military for 7 years I can tell you that I make just under $2300 a month. Now, thats my base pay. There are numerous special pays, pay for housing, and I wont even get into deployment and hazardous duty pay. The websit, military.com should have a link to the salaries of all the branches, and both enlisted and officers.

When looking at these pays remember, food and housing are free! And they train you in your field, which if you pick a good one that has civilian counter part, you can spend a year in Tech School.
So they feed you, house you, train you, give you an good appenticeship, and pay you enough pocket money to get you a car!!! Then you get out after four years and you have a good skill and training!

about $35,000-$37,000 a year. so that would probabily work out to about $500 a week. But us GI's get paid every 2 weeks so you would get a paycheck around $1000 on the 1st and 15th of every month. Its not a bad gig if you ask me.

All branches of the service get paid about the same. But it depends on thier rank and how long they have been in the military. There's other factors as well. Like if he is stationed in Iraq or a war zone then there's hazardous duty pay, if he has family (children, wife, etc) then he gets family seperation pay.
So it all depends on his status and what exactly he is doing at the moment. My husband was in the Navy for 10 years I know the money isn;t that good, but it kept our family fed, housed, and healthy.

This depends on several factors; 1- their rank, 2-their family (ie if they have dependants or not) and 3- their housing situation. I take it you are looking for a single person living in barricks... Here is the monthly pay according to rank (E-1 is lowest) and length of time in service: E-1 ,4 months= $1176.10 2 yrs or more =$1273.50 E-2 (all lengths)=$1427.40 E-3 2 yrs or less=$1501.20 E-3 over 2 yrs=$1595.70, over 3 yrs=$1692.00 The pay just keeps going up from here. & each of those pays increase if they have dependants.

it depends on a lot of things like rank, where you are stationed, dependants, your job, if you live on or off base. Check out the site that someone left you and that should help a lot.

there are many factors to take into account here. such as rank, time in service, cola, number of dependents. right now we are sitting on roughly 4 1/2-5 years, SPC rank and 3 dependents and we are making rouhly 550-650 a week.

it depends on your rank and area of specialty. But the bennies and training are pretty good if you can do without a big paycheck. Your expenses are minimal, unless you are sending $$$ home to help out. A lot to evaluate.

It's not broken down like that in the military we get paid on the 1st and 15 of the months and it all depends on what rank the person is and how long they have been in, how many dependants you have where you live it's so not like cilvilian pay at all.

My husband at E-4 was making about 3700 with BAH. He did not get BAQ because he was attached to a ship. Plus the free medical for me and our two kids. So as a Navy person with 8 years under his belt he was making about 925 a week

You get paid the 1st and the 15th. It goes by rank, married or single, dependants, time in service, and you also get a housing allowance. It's not as bad as a majority of people here are trying to make it sound...LOL 98.00 a week...LOL But, these soldiers don't get paid what they are worth for their training and lives, and 24/7 hard work. Not to mention the safety of our country.
