Don't you feel America should be more like France?
Sometimes i wish America was like a great wonderful country, like France. with the French being against war, but sadly some american supports war, and well has no problem in killing other humans, which when you think about it, that's what war is killing, now why can't america just be lovable peace makers who refuses to go into wars. i believe america should follow France example, by being lovers and not fighters, also how can we forget that it was the wise french who was right. by telling you americans it was not a good idea with iraq., but that's my opinion and i'm from Sweden

Anyway i'm not attacking america, yes i believe your country is overrated, since there are better countries, but let's leave that for another time, all i am saying is why is not america against war

At the rate France is going, it'll part of the caliphate within the next 25 years. If that's your vision for the future, then I suppose France is better, but it's not mine.

I'd rather live in country that strenuously defends its people and interests, not one that rolls over and plays dead every time an aggressor gives them a side lorn glance.

Enjoy the wine while you can because as soon as the caliphate takes over, then vineyards will be uprooted and Notre Dame will have a crescent instead of a cross.

Lotsa luck.

Actually what France only does is "Keep on talking and talking"... They are not upto nothing really

But the real question is "WHY DOES FRANCE ENVY USA SO MUCH?" All france want is to have what the american have and trying to prove they are so much better than the americans... They are more of posers than doers...lol

La France, il y en a beaucoups de racists et ce gens la, ils ne pensent qu'a eux meme. I faut partir en France pour le vrai visage francais!

That's the kind of mindset that gave the French an embarrassing military reputation.

The Iraqi people do have a lot more freedoms now and aren't opressed by Saddam's tyrannical rule. War is sometimes necessary when preserving freedom.

I can't speak for every american, but i can speak for myself and say that i value my lifestyle and my freedom. becuase of some of our bold foreign relations in the last century, we have become the spotlight, "Overrated" to put it your way. that means we draw lots of negative attention from other nations who also are not against war.

War sucks, many people die and there are families on both sides who are affected forever. But, when you get down to it, you have to protect your own above all else. you can't say, "It's ok just this time for y'all terrorists to attack us. We'll give you those 4,000 that you killed, but you had better not do it again." That's called appeasement. Our European allies (France included) tried that with Hitler, and you know how that ended up. Some people aren't meant to be negotiated with, and you have to use more force in order to protect your interests.

I think that at times Operation Iraqi Freedom was poorly executed, but i think the motives and goals going in are justified, good, and worthwhile. We were able to put an end to Hussein's genocide and rule by terror. As well as set up operating bases in the region that allow us to better handle future crises in the region. Such as threats from Iran or help our ally Israel if the war between Israel and Hamas escalates out of thier control (unlikely, but we're there if they need us)

Been to France many times. The people are rude and go out of their way to do so. The people do smell horribly, and most women do not shave. It's legal to beat your wife in the street there, I know this because I was arrested and caused an "International Incident" when I was on shore patrol and kicked the s**t out of a guy beating his wife. He actually got damages from the U.S. for my actions and presumably kept beating his wife. Romance capital of the world my a**... The U.S. is fine the way it is, we can fix some faults of course, but France sucks, end of story.

You're Kidding... Right?
Oh. Like how Muslims are demonstrating in the streets in France and taking over neighborhoods. If you're a woman, there are neighborhoods you better wear head coverings in France, otherwise you're in danger of getting stoned to death. What you need to realize is sometimes there are things worth fighting for!

sometimes you need to fight wars to get a point across. How would the French react for example if some country threatened to kill their people if they did not meet some impossible demands? They would either have to sit back and watch their own people die or do something about it. Some wars are stupid, I do agree, but other times there is no avoiding conflict with power hungry countries.

What would France be without America? One of the larger provinces of the Nazi Empire. Forgive me for stealing a movie line, but surely you see the truth in it.

Another way to see this is the quote, "pacifism is freedom's welfare". You in Sweden have the freedom to live as you wish because America joined the allied nations and liberated France and many other countries and destroyed the Nazi war machine.

There are none more against war than Americans because we have so often born the brunt of war. We have stepped in and done the hard work when other realized that appeasement doesn't work. Your make love not war attitude only works if there are no aggressors. I would suggest you study history. You could even study the history of Sweden and learn more about the necessity for destroying tyrants.

France being an example for America? I'm not pro war, but I don't want my country to lay back and die like France did in WWII. Albeit the only reason I'd be pro war is to defend my homeland, and while I don't support the reasons for the war I'll still support the troops.

Perhaps you have not actually lived in France. I have.

The French have race riots, tremendous problems with Africans and Arabs, and are extremely negative towards almost everyone else.

It is not that they are against war, it is simply that they have nothing to go to war about. They are a very isolationist country and feel strongly that unless it is happening to French people on French soil, they could care less.

They did not want the US to deal with Iraq since they had very lucrative arms and technology deals with Iraq that would be disrupted.

Gotta have more explosions!
Newflash, Americans - Everyone hates you. Heck, even the British hate you more than the French do.

Americans can learn a lot from France's proud military history - no Americans seem to remember that they surrendered and retreated from Canada twice, surrendered at the Philippines, surrendered at Wake Island, surrendered at Guam, got bloody noses at Pearl Harbor, Sidi Bou Zid, the Kasserine Pass and the Battle of the Bulge (which they won eventually, but not before going into a mad retreat from a smaller German force where tens of thousands of Americans were captured. At least the French acknowledge their defeats - the Americans pretend they never happened.

But hey, in spite of having a powerful military, the French are smart about it. They send peacekeepers into areas the Americans refuse to consider (Africa). Their refusal to get involved in Iraq turned out to be for good reason, too - but as usual, Americans can't forgive a friend for being right.
