The U.N is a toothless dog. Although I think the U.S shouldnt stick it's nose where it doesnt belong. Who can blame the Americans after 9/11? As the Commander in Chief of the armed forces, President Bush is responsible for all troops. But not in the way you can put the blame on him if they die in combat. These are soldiers. They took this job knowing that they will be put in harm's way.

You make it sound as if your American soldiers have given their lives for something that should have never been done but that is not the truth. Our soldiers have given their lives and are still willingly given them to protect everything this country stands for. And if you live here in the US you should be glad that they went over and invaded Iraq because who knows what would have happened if we hadn't. We might all have been kill just like so many were on 9-11. Your alive today because of those soldiers and our commander and chief. Bush is just not the militarys commander he is the countries.

Yes. There is no difference between Bush's war of aggression against Iraq, and Saddam's 1990 invasion of Kuwait. Bush and his administration should be hung up by their testicles (as if they had any), sliced into small pieces with a samurai sword, and fed to guppies, a much more civilized life form.
I am NO liberal. I am a Reagan Republican who was entirely for almost all of his military adventures.

And the United Nations is a majority of Communists, not to mention countries who hate America and always have.
The Congress and Senate of the USA (the ones who would have the say-so as to what is illegal) ratified the war, and the Constitution gives the President powers to enact and make such strikes if necessary.
The President also has immunity from any such derisive actions, and as long as he follows these mandates, he has NOT done anything illegal.
The left-wing commie press and especially our islamic enemies would love to make the American public believe all this negative stuff.
If this was illegal, why hasn't Syria, Iran, etc. gone to the UN and brought a resolution for such? Because they know better.
By the way, ask the Kurds whether Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.

Check your facts first....
Its not an "illegal war" as you put it. All you liberals talk about is how terrible president Bush is. No, i dont think he should be responsible. It was their decision to join the service, not his.

NO!!! every service person joined their branch of service by choice. there has not been a draft in many many years. everyone who joined knew there could be a day when they were called to war, and anyone with an ounce of brains knows that if you get more than two people shooting guns and throwing bombs someone is gonna get injured or killed.and i am so sorry that moms and dads are losing their children but they knew the risks as well. and the parents that are screaming about losing their only sons i believe that the parents had to sign on the dotted line oking for that only son to join. so just like every person in the USA that works--its all a part of the job.

our land has a history in attacking other nations for doubtful reasons this reaches back to korea.
whenever this was done it was along with constantly pressing the panic button, making people willing to vote for it, and/or pay for it.
as a summary why it was done ... its for business and the power of a few. reagan does it with nicaragua .. same story other nation .. i think this has to come to an end, cause its a used sheme and there should be someone pointing out whats in fact going on.
churchill once defines how a state looks like (laws etc.) when a doubful leader is in place... and ...congratulations .. never before we fullfilled ALL criteria to be moronic. this time we did.
And never before a nation placed an ultimatum on the UN to get support for an attack on iraq (that ultimatum came later)
what a shame ... doing all this because of a lie
Mark twain once stated that its ok to wave the flag for the land and the people ... we are a great nation, no doubt
but any government leading us has to proove wether it is worth it. And i'm afraid ...while watching what is going on .. i can't find anything positive what bush did to the majority of people living here, except constantly protecting us from a so called 'thread' which is in fact ...just a bubble of hot air.
sorry for the victims of 9-11 what a tragedy ... but this should not lead to such severe mistakes like setting middle east on fire.
There are always radical people here and there capable doing things like 9-11 that was known.
instead of protecting us from that, it was used to establish a public opinion going to war against terror (again) ...oh we are soooo smart.
The world community starts looking on us in a mixed mode.
anyone considered what happens if they pull out their money ?
I know so many people around the globe.
Never before i needed to excuse our general stupidity to reelect bush again... soooo
just tell us why do we reelect somone who starts an illegal war ? you don't know ? i know..cause we are blind, and not among those who earn money from that sort of business, which is going on... you don't believe ? whats the current 'terror-level' ??? ooooh <flip> its red, now you MUST believe
stupid

If it truly was an illegal way, he would have been impeached years ago. People advising Bush on his actions are much smarter than you. They are much smarter than most of the people of Yahoo Answers for that matter. Most Americans don't agree with the war, but you MUST be supportive of the troops. Even if you don't agree with the president, you should respect him. I'd love to see an uneducated person, such as yourself, walk a day in his shoes. I'm not saying that you should revere him. But you should respect him.

This is only one of the many things Bush needs to be held responsible for.
He has destroyed our relationships with our allies.
He has seriously damaged our freedom in this country.
He has intimidated the congress and the press to get things done his way, and to squelch all opposition to his policies.
He has paid billions of dollars to private contractors for Iraq and for the rebuilding of New Orleans, most of those dollars to Haliburton, who has defrauded the govt by taking our money and doing nothing.
He has passed mamouth tax breaks for the richest people in our country, while cutting spending for all programs that help the average person.
He has broken all of the treaties we previously agreed to to try and stop the destruction of the planet. He does not want to do this because it will cut the profits of the super wealthy who he represents.
I hope we will hold him accountable by backing the movement to impeach him and Cheney. Besides holding him accountable, we need to impeach him before he can get us into another war in Iran. That war would be horrendous, and could result in a third world war.
IMPEACH BUSH BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

If this is true then every war, that we've participated in which was NOT approved by the UN Security Council, then - every president (from those 'illegal' wars) must be held responsible!
However, I don't know what you would do in the case of a deceased president.
I think we should pass a law stating that for every deceased soldier, from 'illegal' wars, the financial loss should come out of the residing president's income/retirement - then, just maybe, the residing president would not be so quick into making stupid decisions...................

So, when Bush had both authorization from Congress, and had UN Resolution 1441, which did authorize the use of "all necessary means" to force compliance, an authorization that had been in effect since the Gulf War cease-fire, please tell me how this constitutes "illegality".
Because, by any objective reading of all the documents, there is no "illegality" involved, regardless of how many times you click the heels of your ruby slippers together and say it.

Suzy, no offence but you left out ALOT of details and no Bush can't be held responsible. Remember congress voted on the invasion? It wasn't a one mans discision. If the U.N. was so against it, then why are other nations involved? No Bush should not be held responsible, just to answer your qustion. When considering responsibility, don't ignore the facts that lead to the outcome of what is happening.

Gee, I think the United States Constitution predates that load of crap. The president has the right to send troops where he sees fit and declare war with the concent of congress and Bush got both UN okay and congress and Iraq isn't an ILLEGAL war. Where do you people get your "facts"? The mainstream media, which is a puppet of the liberal Democrats?

First of all,
80% of the Military voted for Bush the first time. 70% The Second Time.
Majority of us wanted to finish this job because we saw this as a "just war".
Second of all....
WE ARE THE BADDEST KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Dig down and remember your an American!
We dont need to answer to anyone. We pay for majority of the UN, and its on our own soil. Why? Because we are the most free country, the safest country, and most stable country out there.
As the "best" country out there. I think we know a thing or two about how the world should be run. Its been working damn fine for us so far.
No, Bush doesnt act with the Militarys lives in the balance. That wouldnt make sense. He acts with the Countries best interest. The military is the tool to get the job done.
Cmon now!
You are an American.
You are a winner.

Honestly, where you do you people get these wacko ideas? Anyone injured over here gets all their "combat-related" benefits, whatever you are talking about... hahahahahaha

i have recently returned from a 16 month deployment in Iraq. i am proud to have served my country, but i am very disheartened by the cause for which our blood is spilled.
i can say, because i have been there- in the villages, the cities, the streets, not sitting in the green zone getting fat, i can say that we have no business over there, and that George w. is responsible for the deaths of more Americans than osama bin laden.
Afghanistan was one thing, Iraq is another. the only ones benefiting are the private contractors and stock holders in companies like KBR (see dick Cheney). if the average American could spend one day in Iraq, he/she would be disgusted.
i have little faith in our politicians to find a fix, and even less faith in our military leadership. the waste of money, resources, and most sadly, the waste of young American lives is beyond sickening-it is catastrophic.
it is so absurd to me that Clinton was impeached because he lied about cheating on his wife, and yet everyone turns a blind eye to bush's lies about this war. this is the start of the fall of Rome.
