Cowboy Cartoonist	Americans are like all nations. Their leaders are usually nuts and most people in the country are against their "leader's" stupidity. I can only speak for myself and every one of my friends when I say, the war is stupid, killing of children and innocent people makes me sick, and there's nothing I can do except just hope that the other countries know that there are good people everywhere and that we care, just like they would if they knew us People here don't know. We have the 26th most free press on Earth now. We used to have the most free. We are the most lied to nation on Earth. If we keep bombing every city that has some terrorists in it, then we eventually will have to bomb every city on Earth, including ourselves..there are terrorists everywhere. If only more people here knew that Beruit is "the Paris" of the middle east, is like San Francisco, the people are great, bombing them and the city is insane, serves no purpose other than to make rich toads richer at the expense of people just trying to live their lives in peace. nquizzitiv	No, not all Americans support what Israel is doing. Congress represents the American people but they often don't do what the majority of Americans really want. I honestly don't know if the majority of Americans support any kind of war. I know that Bush and his approval ratings have sunk to the lowest levels ever because Americans, even those in the Republican party, disagree with his policies. I think it's very telling when one of the most conservative Republicans in the USA - William F. Buckley - publicly states he disagrees with Bush's policies in Iraq. Was this answer helpful to you? So, no, I support neither Israel nor Lebanon in this. I particularly abhor when attacks against another country result in the deaths of innocent civilians and especially children!! Humanitarian aid from the US is a good and noble cause - nothing more. I see that Israel turned down a UN request for a cease fire, saying that they had opened a humanitarian corridor so aid can reach Lebanon, but this is not sufficient. fr_chuck	yes the majority of the America people support Isreal in thier war against the terrorist based in Lebonan. It is sad that the terrorist must put thier equipment and bases in residental areas, that they are too scared to wear uniforms and fight proudly for thier cause. But Isreal is in full rights to try and stop the constant attacks agaisnt them. ( and they have had alot of losses also from missles comming out of Lebonan. War is sad and people get killed, but perhaps Lebonan will understand they should have disarmed the terrorist when the UN ordered them to. And in a real war children, women, dogs, cats and gold fish all get killed. n0witrytobeamused	At first I supported it believing it to be a matter of simple self-defense; Hezbollah shot rockets into Israel and Israel had to use force to stop the rocket attacks. Nothing else works. But the near total destruction of Beirut and the surrounding countryside has not stopped the rockets. Then I noticed that rockets were fired from people's homes, which is horrible because the Hezbollah knows that the Israelis use infrared sensors to find launch sites so that those sites can be bombed. And they are bombed quickly. Why would Hezbollah put ordinary citizens right in the line of fire? Just to get pictures of dead babies? So I got to thinking; why would Hezbollah shoot little rockets into Israel that do very little damage when they know it will provoke an attack? Do you remember a few months ago when Lebanon ordered Syria to remove it soldiers? Syria was upset about it. Wait a minute... Is it possible that Syria has operatives in Hezbollah that fired rockets into Israel FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE of provoking Israel to destroy Lebanon? What a sinister plan...Hezbollah attacks Israel from Lebanon, Israel demolishes Lebanon, Lebanese flock to Syria for help. Syria looks like the good guys, Israel looks like the bad guys and the US gets bad press as well. The fledgling democracy of Lebanon is destroyed, the spread of democracy in the middle east stopped. That's possible, isn't it? But it isn't possible to prove that in time to fire at Syria instead of Beirut, so I think the Israelis are stuck and have to try to kill the Hezbollah who are hiding amongst the people. It is hard to believe a small strip of land is worth so many lives. I support Israel's attempt to exist and to protect itself, but I am also very aware of the heavy price so many people have to bear in this conflict. I generally blame the persons who start each round of violence and praise the ones who withhold violence when they can. Holly	It seems to me that Israel has gotten a free pass for a long time. Their policy has always been to wipe out as many Muslims as possible. Yes I know about the terrorists and all that, but how is it justifiable to attack a country for something private criminals did? But then we did the same thing in Afganistan didn't we.
