Lala
My Ex and the Other Woman?
Actually, I used to feel bitter, now I feel sorry for him.

This was someone I shared a strong connection with, who told me it was forever. Only for him to start to treat me like crap, (the work of the other woman, I knew all along, he could not admit it, even though i asked him if he wanted out, he could go, he just had to tell me) and when it was too much, I asked for an end. I spoke to an older woman about it and she says I should not let him go (bad advice). So I went back to him, he makes it look like my fault and he jumps straight into this woman's laps.

I think it was sex, she is into BDSM, he suggested to me to become something of a slave, imagine? (when I know my worth!)

I feel sorry for him now because I know he has regrets (she has manipulated herself around him so tightly destroying his relationships with people so she is the only one, he seems weak i guess), there are still some feelings here but I won't take him back. He contacted me during Christmas but I gave a cold shoulder. We corresponded in February/March by mail and he said his memories of our past is fresh with him (whilst lying and subtly blaming the breakup on me that i asked for an end), I met his lies with the truth, gave him good advice, and warned him about this type of woman, suffice it so say, I said goodbye and wished him luck. But I feel bad occasionally. Why? Women who may read this, i think we know that there are some "women" who you would never want to date someone they dated, this is the type of woman this person is. There was a time I felt no man deserved this type, but I've given it thought and i think sometimes that there are some men who deserve her kind, like my ex perhaps, although I hope he is able to free himself from whatever grip she has on him (I wish him well and it's difficult to have a knowledge of his situation sometimes and it seems like he was crying out to me to save him, but how can I do that? Am I responsible for his position? Should I have held him with an iron grip?)... I am with someone else at the moment, I think God works in mysterious ways because if that breakup didn't happen, I would not have met this gentleman. People say they don't understand what I saw in my ex,...

It has been some months now. I have memories of him because of how special it was and I am told you can't chase away those memories, they will probably be with you for as long as you live...

I do not know that it is proper for me to do anything to help him, sometimes I wish I did not know about it, but I knew back then that this would be the outcome for him. So I feel guilty sometimes, like I let him walk into this crazy person's grip (even though he was nasty to me). But I'm young, he is older than me, so I do not know that I could have done anything, he has age and life experience on his side, what do you think? Should I feel guilt?

Don't feel guilty. He used, lied, manipulated and was very disloyal to you. Now he is feeling the other woman's wrath. It's true, what goes around comes around. I applaud you for moving on and finding a man who will treat you the way you deserve to be treated. Sounds to me when he contacted you recently about the past "memories", he was trying to see where you stood on the break up. Don't give in to his "memories" sob story. You both aren't together for a reason. Him and the other woman deserve to be miserable together. Enjoy your relationship with the one your with. You should feel no guilt. You did nothing to him. You gave this man your all, only for him to break your heart. Don't feel sorry for him. It was good of you to give him advice. But he should've been an adult when he stuck his man jewels in her. God bless you for not seeking revenge. Good luck with everything. He's missing out on something great and he's now realizing it. Too little, too late.
